stuck at the pillar

I just finished talking with Ghost of Larry on the rooftop. After that's done i go over to the pillar. Played all sorts of chords on the guitar with now effect. Nothing. I am stuck on the roof and cannot get down. Anyplace i play the guitar on the roof nothing happens. J K L .. wth and i supposed to do? demoralizing as heck .. so .. time for a break from this. No help.

The pillars/barriers must be activated by Ghost Larry via the Deadstone (press "R" to do that) - you hear a sound too and as far as I can remember, it also lights up. After activating the barrier, switch to Sal and only play those signs that are shown in the middle of the pillar. Pay attention to this as it is a timed puzzle and if you want to get an achievement for perfectly playing the guitar, make sure you pay attention to the time and the keys you play.

Tip: sometimes the game does not register Larry's Deadstone effect so I advise you to do next to/in front of the object you need to activate.

any suggestions if no signs show up in the middle of the pillar even after Ghost Larry activates the pillar via Deadstone?

Yep, I was just overthinking it. You gotta press "R" again as Ghost Larry, to activate the pillar on Sal's side. Then you switch over to Sal, and once you press G you're on a timer to play the symbols shown on the pillar.

This didn’t work for me, it won’t activate at all.
