Can't progress at the beginning

So, i just started game, chapter 1. I picked up Gear Boy from Sal's room. When I checked out bags in kitchen (like in walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quOqceO8eVo ), i DID NOT get "Oh wait, there's a pack of betteries in here. Sweet!" line.
I used controler and later on keyboard (which im not used to, since i usually play point n click games with cursor, mourse). I even started new game, if there was bug in my file.
Did it happen to someone before? Do i need to reinstall?

EDIT; Reinstalled game, it didnt help :(

thanks, I ignored the passcode since i still could in end of the dream. I just pushed random numbers, it exploded. Did not know it could affect further
