Episode 3 bug?

I started episode 3 directly after finishing episode 2.
I can't seem to progress in helping Larry. I threw the tennis ball at the window, then went back to speak to Larry, but somehow the distraction didn't work? I looked up some videos to see if I was missing something or not. I noticed that Sally was empty handed in their playthroughs, but in mine he was still walking around with his Gear Boy. Is there a way to fix this without starting an entirely new game?

I came to discussions because I have this exact problem. Thinking i was missing something i looked at a playthrough, but i've done all of the same. After hitting the window it's supposed to say "The distraction worked" or something, but i just get the same prompt over and over ("Maybe if i make a loud noise" thing) and Larry says the same over and over. I have no idea how to fix it, as closing and re-opening the game did nothing. Sal does not have the gear boy in my game, but otherwise, seemingly the same bug.

This was a weird/obscure bug. Should be fixed now! No need to reset game. Though, just as an FYI, when you delete your game, you can choose to start at any episode.

This was a weird/obscure bug. Should be fixed now! No need to reset game. Though, just as an FYI, when you delete your game, you can choose to start at any episode.
