Troubleshooting
If you're having any issues with the game, please try the actions below.

• Make sure you have the latest update installed from Steam. If you have the DLC make sure that you have the updates turned on for that as well.

• For graphics issues or crashes, try adjusting the Resolution and Quality settings within the Options Menu.

• If the game is crashing at start up, try updating your drivers, changing the resolution settings on your computer and/or adjusting your anti-virus software. This thread on Unity games crashing may be of help in certain cases.

• Delete game from your computer and reinstall.

• Turn off the Steam overlay.

• Delete your save and start a New Game. If you can't access this from the Menu screen, you can delete your local file here: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\LocalLow\Steve Gabry\Sally Face (or on Mac here: ~/Library/Application Support/Steve Gabry/Sally Face)

• If your computer runs the game poorly or has trouble booting the game, make sure to close out of all other applications before launching the game. You can also try to install it on another machine, if possible.

Black screen but can still hear sound: there is a very rare issue where sometimes your system Time Zone causes a conflict with Unity UI. Try changing your time zone then changing it back.

• If none of the above steps solve your issue, the quickest way to reach me is by email: portablemoose@gmail.com or you can replay to this discussion. Please give a detailed explanation of what you're experiencing and the steps taken to reproduce it.

Help with Other Stuff

DLC Episodes: In your Steam Client, go to your Library and click on Sally Face. On the right, you should see a check box for the DLC to install. Make sure that is checked. You can also right click on "Sally Face", in your Library list, to access more options. Once the DLC is installed, you can continue from your save into episode two or start a new game from any episode.

Transferring Save Data: (Note that Sally Face does not support Steam Cloud saves) Copy two sets of files from the original computer and paste them into the same exact locations in the second computer:
  1. Copy the .save file located in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\LocalLow\Steve Gabry\Sally Face
  2. Copy the PlayerPrefs by opening the Registry Editor in Windows, then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Unity\UnityEditor\Steve Gabry\Sally Face

Known Issues

Loading screen hangs at the end of Episode One
This can happen for some players and means that you do not have the DLC installed (see instructions above). The game is typically supposed to load the credits screen in this case but sometimes it does not. To solve the issue, exit the game and install the DLC.

What are you running the game on? (OS, CPU, RAM...)

I'm running on Windows 7, I think the CPU is a AMD Phenom Quad core, and I have about 8 GB of RAM.

Hm, it should run fine on that but if it's crashing then that would most likely be some compatibility issue with your machine. Are you able to try it on a different computer? Also, what exactly is happening for you (when and how is the game crashing)?

I start the game up then it crashes instantly. I don't how how it's crashing though. I did try it on a friend's laptop and it worked, but not my PC

It sounds like your computer is just having difficulties running the game (might be a memory issue or something else). Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do to help in this case. Sorry! I would suggest asking Valve for a refund, unless you're able to play on a different computer.

Brought the DLC and my achivements on the game have been removed. I still have the steam achivements but it wont let me start a new game or the second episode either. :/

It shouldn't delete the in-game achievements unless you start a new game, I'll look into that. Can you give more details on what is happening for you? Do you have the options "Continue" and "Delete Game" on the main menu? You can either choose to continue and play from where you left off (leading into episode 2) or you can delete game then start a new game from the beginning of episode 1 or 2. Are those options not working for you?

I seem to have similar problem like Aussie.
Episode 1 was working fine for me but after installing the season pass when launching the game it shows the screen with the engine game was made. Then it's only black screen and the cursor is a loading circle.
When I try pressing something it shows Sally Face.exe is not responding and I can only close the program :steamsad:
And I'm runing on Win7, 4 GB of ram, and CPU is IntelCorei 3 with 2.10GHz

It sounds like your machine is having trouble loading the game. Ep 2 is more intensive than ep 1, but it should still run on those specs. Have you tried closing all other programs and making sure there aren't a lot of background processes using up your memory? How much available space is on your hard drive?

Answering your questions: no unnecessary processes and 267GB left space.
But! Since you asked about the usage of memory from processes, I wanted to look how much the usage increases when I start the game. So when the window that game stopped working popped up, I opened the task manager in os without closing the game. And when I clicked back on the game window icon it went on normally.
I checked it again and when there's issue with game stopped working, alt+tab'ing to the desktop and then returning to the game's window seems to fix this. Game works ok :steamhappy:
So I guess I will proceed with this alt tabbing fix. Maybe this might help someone else
But thank you very much for your answering! :steamhappy:

That's really weird! haha, Well, I'm glad you're at least able to play the game.
Every time I leave the game, the whole process is reset. The inscription "continue" disappears, and there is only a "new game". Also from the game all achievements are lost:steamsad:

Whoa, maybe your computer is haunted! Did you try to delete the game and reinstall? Are you using Steam's Cloud save? Sometimes there are issues with their cloud system. Otherwise it sounds like it's not pulling the save file form your computer. What OS are you using (Win, Mac or Linux)? Can you check if the game is storing the save file on your computer (location is listed above, in the main post)?

Tried to reinstall, but without success. I use Win. Already tried to use local files, but nothing happened(
