I don't understand how to pass the 5 Chapter in the mini games

The adjacent screens are not random, so you need to memorize the path that brings you to a screen you haven't visited yet.

It's time limited tothe screen getting lighter right? So all you gotta do is try every direction until a new setting comes up and repeat til you get home. You just have to remember which ones worked.

I know this topic is old but I was having the same issue and couldn't figure it out... so I jumped to chapter 6 of the minigames. The one where you have to find skulls with the cultist.
I missed a step and touched the spikes... and instead of dying I got teleported to chapter 5 with the same cultist. I managed to find my way out not sure how and got the message from the mom with the cultist instead of the little girl.
Weird.
