Saving system

While it's good that you now can choose chapters if you start the game over, I must say that chapter 2 took much longer time than chapter 1. Therfore it's quite the hassle to play all the way through again if you just want to find stuff you missed, secrets etc.
Is it possible for checkpoints to be introduced? Or say if you get a limited number of saves for each chapter? Or just something...
