First off, I want to say that I'm genuinely glad I bought Glory to Heroes. When I first considered buying it, I was a little skeptical. Not because I thought it was a bad game, but because you never really know what the future holds for a game like this. You can find a game you genuinely enjoy, get invested in it, and then worry that one day the developers might stop updating it or abandon it altogether.

I guess I just wanted a little reassurance that this game had a future, because I could see the potential in it, and I didn't want to get excited about something that might eventually be left behind.

Now that I've spent time playing it, I'm glad I took the chance. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game. It's fun, it's got potential, and it's the kind of game I want to keep coming back to. I want to see it grow, get better, and receive more content over time. I know development takes work, and I don't expect everything to be perfect or fixed overnight. But there are a few things I think could make the experience even better.

One thing I've noticed is that NPCs sometimes seem to teleport around instead of moving smoothly. It can be a little immersion-breaking when you're trying to enjoy the gameplay and see characters suddenly jump from one position to another. I'd love to see improvements to NPC movement, synchronization, and pathfinding so that their movements feel more natural and consistent. I understand that performance and networking can be complicated, but smoother movement would make a noticeable difference.

I think the matches could benefit from being longer. Personally, I'd love to see matches last around 45 minutes to an hour. Sometimes just as you're getting into the action, the match feels likes it's already over. Longer matches would give players more time to move around the map, fight over objectives, work together, and experience more of what the game has to offer.

This is one of the biggest things I'd love to see added: a proper solo PvE mode where you can play with AI teammates against AI enemies. Sometimes, you just want to play the game without depending on other people online. Depending on the day, servers can be quiet, and it would be great to have another way to enjoy the game without having to wait for other players. I think this would give players another reason to keep coming back, even when the servers aren't busy.

I've noticed that AI enemies can sometimes seem concentrated around one objective rather than being spread more evenly across the map. I'd like to see the AI distributed more intelligently so that multiple objectives offer a reasonable level of resistance. This would encourage players to move around the map and fight in different areas instead of having one objective feel like the main place where all the action happens.

Another thing I'd like to see improved is how quickly AI bodies disappear. Sometimes, I'm trying to loot a body, and it disappears before I've finished. That can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to take your time and decide what equipment you want to carry. I'd appreciate a longer despawn timer for bodies, ideally with bodies remaining available while someone is actively looting them. I understand that keeping bodies around for too long could affect performance, particularly when there are lots of NPCs dying during a match. Still, I think there could be a reasonable balance between performance and giving players enough time to loot.

I had an incident where another player killed me despite the yellow tape on my character clearly identifying me as a being on the Ukrainian side. After I respawned nearby, I found that same player looting my gear. I retaliated and killed them, which I understand wasn't the right way to handle the situation. They then killed me again, and I ended up getting kicked. I'm not pretending I handled that perfectly. I shouldn't have retaliated by team-killing. however, I also don't think intentional team-killing should go unaddressed, especially when someone is deliberately killing teammates and taking their equipment. I'd like to see better ways to report this kind of behavior and a system that can handle intentional team-killing more fairly. Players shouldn't feel like their only options are to put up with it or retaliate and risk getting punished themselves. This is another reason why I'd really appreciate a solo PvE mode. Sometimes, you just want to enjoy the game, fight AI, and loot equipment without worrying about another player ruining the experience.

I've also noticed an issue with the on-screen prompts when customizing controls. For example, checking your magazine is originally bound to V, while another action is bound to H. I switched checking the magazine to H and reassigned V to the other action. However, the on-screen prompt still tells me to press H for the other action, even after changing the keybind. I'm not entirely sure whether the prompt is supposed to update to the new key or disappear altogether after changing the controls, but it doesn't seem to respond correctly to the changes I've made. I'd like to see this looked into so that the on-screen prompts behave as intended and don't continue displaying outdated or unnecessary instructions after players customize their controls.

Overall, I really love this game. Yes, there are things I'd like to see improved, and I've listed quite a few suggestions here. But that's what Early Access is for! It's an opportunity for the developers to get feedback from the player base, see what works, identify what needs improvement, and continue making the game better over time. I know making a game takes time, and I don't expect everything to be perfect. What matters to me is seeing the game continue to develop, with improvements and new content that make the experience even better for everyone. I'm excited to see what the future hold for this game. There's already plenty here to enjoy, and I'm looking forward to seeing how much further the developers can take it. Keep up the good work, devs. You've got something worth building on here, and I'm looking forward to the journey ahead!

Slava Ukraini!

I don’t usually write reviews, but after spending time with this game, I feel it deserves an honest assessment. From the first look, I genuinely thought this could be something special. The graphics are impressive, the atmosphere is promising, and on paper, it seems like the kind of game that should scratch the itch for anyone who enjoys tactical, military style shooters.

Unfortunately, first impressions only go so far.

After actually playing the game several issues became apparent. The AI in particular, needs serious work. At times enemies can be challenging and seem switched on, but too often their behaviour feels unnatural and predictable. Rather than properly scanning their surroundings, clearing areas intelligently or reacting convincingly to what's happening around them, they can end up running in circles. It breaks immersion and makes encounters feel far less authentic than they should. Movement is another area that needs attention, as it currently feels clunky, heavy, and lacking the fluidity you'd expect from a game aiming for this level of realism.

That said, the core gameplay has potential. There is something here worth building on, and I can see what the developers are trying to achieve. The problem is that right now the overall experience doesn't quite live up to that vision.

In my opinion, releasing the game in its current state may have been a mistake. Player numbers appear to be extremely low with peaks of around 30 players on the nights I've checked, perhaps more at busier times. When a game is built around tactical gameplay and the possibility of playing alongside others, a player base that small becomes a serious concern. For many players, the experience is likely to revolve around PvE simply because there aren't enough people around to make the multiplayer side feel alive. Better marketing and greater visibility could also have helped the game reach a wider audience.

I want to be clear: this isn't about tearing a game apart for the sake of it. I'm not interested in slandering a title that has only just launched. I'd rather give a fair constructive review that highlights both its shortcomings and its potential. Yes, the game is in Early Access and I understand that development takes time. However, I still believe more optimisation, bug fixing, and refinement of the AI and movement systems would have made a significant difference before opening the experience up to a wider audience. Despite my criticisms, I haven't written this game off.

I genuinely believe there is a path towards making this a solid, worthwhile title. I wouldn't necessarily expect it to reach the same level as Squad, nor do I think it needs to. In fact, I think its greatest strength could be in establishing its own identity. It has elements that remind me of Escape from Tarkov and Squad, blending that tense, immersive atmosphere with a more tactical military experience. If the developers can refine the mechanics, improve the AI, and build a more active community, there is every reason to believe this game could carve out its own place in the genre.

Performance, at least on my own setup, has been reasonably solid, so I can't personally complain too much in that department. Of course, performance will vary from system to system and optimisation is still something worth keeping an eye on as development continues.

If you're someone who enjoys getting immersed in a military environment, taking your time, and playing PvE without needing other people to make the experience enjoyable, you may find something to like here. However, if you're buying this game expecting to jump straight into a populated multiplayer experience find a squad and get stuck into coordinated tactical gameplay, I'd recommend holding off for now. With player numbers as low as they currently appear to be, that experience simply may not be there consistently enough to justify the purchase.

This is a game with a promising foundation, impressive visuals, and the potential to become something genuinely good. But potential alone isn't enough. The AI needs improving, the movement needs refining, the technical issues need addressing and the game needs a stronger, more active player base.

I want to see this game succeed, and that's precisely why I'm being critical. I'd much rather see the developers take the time to polish what they've built than watch a promising title struggle because it reached the public before it was truly ready.

For now, I'd say keep an eye on it. There is something here worth watching, but whether it becomes the game it has the potential to be will depend entirely on what happens next.

This game has so much potential, but not in the current state. It has an identity crisis.

Why is this a PvEvP extraction shooter? It has all the hallmarks of a tactical shooter that could be pretty good, but the out of place extraction mechanics make zero sense.
