Grabbed this on the launch discount figuring it was a throwaway little drone-shooter. Ended up four hours deep in a single sitting.

And I have to say — the music pack DLC is free, and it absolutely carries. Honestly, like half the charm of this game is buried in that soundtrack, and it's sitting right there for nothing.

The core is simple: you stand on floating islands and gun down wave after wave of drones. Double-jump, strafe, that's the whole toolkit. What makes it work is that the enemies aren't one drone with a fatter health bar. You get Wardens that orbit you, Brutes that kamikaze straight into your face, and that Hive that just parks itself way off in the distance and keeps dropping more drones. It pretty much forces you to keep moving.

Played the whole thing on a controller and it felt great — and the aim assist is generous.
Now the warning: that final level is unhinged. No cover anywhere, the screen absolutely packed, glow effects everywhere (I personally love that kind of visual noise, but your mileage may vary), and the last wave drops the campaign's big boss. It is genuinely hard.

Thankfully, the shop lets you buy your way up. If your skill isn't there yet, your numbers will carry you — and there's an idle mode that banks coins while the game just sits open, so you don't have to grind it by hand.

Recommended, as long as you're on board with the whole DOOM-shooting plus Vampire-Survivors-wave-clearing thing.

Combat’s loud, fast, tense. But every time I come back to the hub, the old veteran looks up and says something like “There you are,” or “Sit down, rest a minute.” That contrast—chaos out there, quiet in here—just calms me down. He never gives me missions. Just slowly tells me about his past: used to fly too, squad got scattered in a storm once, explains why he’s still standing there. Story actually feels real. Easily my favorite part of the game.

You can clear the campaign just by playing normally — bank coins along the way and spend them on upgrades. But finishing it is not the end: there's more upgrades, there's Endless, and there's the CYCLE ladder on top.

No guide required. Buy guns, kill drones, level up. You get it within ten minutes.

The one genuinely smart idea: there are different enemy types and bosses, and the ORDER you kill them in actually matters. You'll catch yourself mid-fight thinking "okay, which one do I drop first?" — because pick wrong and the whole wave punishes you for it. It turns mindless spraying into actual decisions.

12 levels isn't a huge number, but every one gets its own arena and its own sky, and then you stack three difficulty tiers, rolled modifiers, and an Endless mode that reshuffles its layout on every attempt. Plenty of shooting for what you pay.
