The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel

What difficulty should I play on?
So I enjoyed the difficulty of the Sky games on normal but have found Zero and Azure way too easy on normal (tbf im still playing Azure so maybe it will pick up but judging by Zero i doubt it) so before i finish Azure and finally move on to Cold Steel I thought id ask in advance if I should play on Normal or give hard a go?

Probably Hard or even Nightmare.
I read somewhere and it seems mostly correct that if you played Sky on normal you should try Zero and Azure on Hard...

And from that point onward - you should decide if you stick with hard for Cold steel or play on Nightmare from the start
Hard I will never trust anyone saying to play nightmare after Azure I got stuck on Arnrhod on nightmare and just watched the rest on YT

yeah i've since beat both Cold Steel 1 and 2 on hard and it was the way to go. I feel like Nightmare just would have been tedious.
Yeah, the Sky games on Normal.

Crossbell and Cold Steel is fine to start out on Hard, and I do Nightmare on replays, since even if you start out without carrying over items or levels, just knowing what's coming and being able to plan for it is enough to make Nightmare fine.
Hard for One and Two unless you want to just speed through to get to 3-4

Hard will just make the whole experience drag out more but I prefer hard mode because sometimes and I mean sometimes I get slammed by something I never even planned for like "neat I got dusted".
I'm still playing Sky SC. I played FC on Nightmare and found it too hard and tedious so I switched to Hard for SC and I find it pretty much perfect. I've heard that the Cold Steel games are about a difficulty level easier than the Sky games, so should I play them on Nightmare? Can anyone advise?
I have not played Sky on Hard, only on Normal and Nightmare. Cold Steel is orders of magnitude easier than Sky and Sky 3rd Nightmare, and according to other people on forums, compared to Sky SC too. By the endgame, your characters will be so strong Cold Steel Nightmare will honestly be comparable to Sky Normal difficulty even. So if you're finding Sky SC to be perfect on hard, then you should play Cold Steel on Nightmare.

OK, thanks. That's what I figured, but I was a little cautious about jumping into another Nightmare playthrough after the horror that was FC Nightmare
