works on steam deck
in case you're wondering, it works well on the steam deck. Controls work as they should right out of the gate. Also can be ran with high graphics and at 60fps, not a big surprise since it was originally a ps3 and vita game. No problems to report.

Does this game support 16:10?

Yeah it does.

The game will sometimes freeze during a save but thankfully it has never corrupt and the save still happened so there's no loss. Its not that common so not a big issue.

Up to the end of the prologue works, but past that the maps dont load correctly and crashes on loading after some dialogue ends

It should work. I don't have a SteamDeck but I do play on Linux and it works fine. I'm up to Chapter 6.

I can back that up for the cs games and so far a few other games i have tried as well, i have dl CS 1, CS 2 and CS 3 and they all work without even a glitch on the deck, i have not dl CS 4 yet but given the first 3 worked i don't think that will be any different. also a number of jrpg games not tested by steam have run as well,

The steam deck despite its piss poor battery life and a heat vent that could cook your dinner, it is a good piece of kit. so far it has proven it self to be worth the its hefty purchase price. (also it eats into your sleeping time, another all nighter playing cold steel
... zzzzz)

Get a second hand Vita. CS 1 and 2 work flawlessly on it. And great battery life :)

If it supports 16x10, why is the config popup that comes up only offering me 1280x720 and not 1280x800?

Looks like they officially added the Verified Steam Deck check at last, nice been playing it a bit recently and it did run very well. Same with most of the other Trails games.

Oh yes, the long load times, subpar performance, lack of turbo and no Japanese voices sound wonderful.

Japanese game companies pretty much universally are deadset against overseas distributors selling their games to Japanese players. I couldn't begin to tell you why that is. If I was wondering why a JRPG on Steam didn't have Japanse voices, my money would be on the developers trying to prevent Japanese gamers with VPNs from playing the Steam version.

Why buy an inferior piece of equipment than rather playing it on a state of the art modern piece of art like the steam deck. Each to his/her own i guess but i just love my deck and wouldn't go back to older hardware at all.
