NG+ and Dragon Vision.
I noticed on NG+ if your level is too high compared to the enemy if you hit them twice in the field you kill them skipping the random fight, if you do that with a character equipped with Dragon Vision, does it count for the Monster Guide?

Probably not, but if you're worried about guide completion, you could have carried over the notebook. That only works for minor enemies, not one-time-only story bosses, so you would only need to just... not do the double-hit if you're concerned about completion.
