how many bonds can you max out during one playthrough

Max out? With a NG+ game, using Max Bonding points, you can reach link level 5 with 8 characters, and potentially see the final bonding event with all characters.

Without Max Bonding points, you can probably get about 3-4 chars to level 5 if you focus on them.

Theoretically, you could max out all since you get +3 bonding xp every time you win a battle with your linked partner. But that would be *extremely* grindy and I don't think anyone would do it.

I managed to get all the girls to Lv5 (barring the late addition to the party) on my first play through and finished my guys on the second... but I also devoted my bonding points to girls first then guys... also I am a meticulous grinder so probably managed to stack up a chunk of extra points that way too.
