On top of that, every free day the fishing spots in Trista reset to max so if you miss a fish on a field study you have plenty of chances to catch it later. For what rod to use for which fish, the fishing note in game gives a good visual indication with fish lower on the list requiring better fishing rods.
I just started chapter 2 and I'm 16/20, i'm just worried that I'm gonna miss something.
@Zunymitshu Hold on to your groundbait for the final chapter, in the pond near the gymnasium you can catch any fish you might have missed miss through the chapters. (this is, I believe, true throughout the game, but in the final chapter they should all be there)
Getting super rare and/or powerful items, accessories and quartz early in the game is now delegated to a new Trade shop option. Essentially you trade items indicated to get better stuff, though to get them really early you will need to do quite a bit of grinding. What you can trade for is also dependent on game progression.
