Do I need to get EVERY master quartz in a single playthrough?

I have been doing my second playthrough of the game and so far really good with achivements but I have noticed when I got the last medal , I had to choose between thors and chevalier. So can I just do what we could do in FC , and get one , load and get the other?

I probably can't just speed run through the game and skip side quests either since one of the medals need a certain amount of BP (I believe it does anyway).........Can I keep my items and get the last medal that way? Like via new game plus? Will Vandyck still give it to me?

You can carry over things like items (consumables, equipment, quartz and master quartz), levels and notebook data. You will need all of the master quartz to get the achievement but it doesn't matter how many playthroughs it takes you to do it.

I know that, its just I am curious if its possible to get Vandyck medal cutscene (since its the one that also gets you one of the master quartz) just by having the 3 medals even if they are carried over. I am wondering about this because I might just do a only mandatory quests speed run of the game which should be finished withing a single day.

Its not like I won't be replaying this game in the future (If I could I would add this to my trails marathon which I do twice a year if possible) , its just that seeing a game that belongs to one of my favorite franchise without all the achivements unlocked is kind of saddening to me.

I see what you mean, it took me four playthroughs to 100% the game, it should have been three but one simple mistake (One where I forgot to scan an enemy) made it four.

Oh I am so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glad I scanned 95% of the enemies in my first playthrough. That saved me from a lot of hassle.
Honestly I kinda fear if Cold Steel 2 has something that requires 2 runs (not like new game plus exclusive but more like a one time choice). I haven't even gotten max BP in that game. When I noticed I missed a few students here and there I just gave up and did not even do any sidequest after getting all 4 zemurian ore for the giant tachi. I just wanted to end the game because I was playing it during school time and not on summer vacation or something like that. Hell even for mandatory stuff I just did the Rean , overdrive , soul unification , emma use CP up on rean, 1 shot kill the boss. Like I didn't even care. Really looking forward to my second run of that game if not for anything just how much content I missed out on.

Like for example in Nord there was a tent meaning probably a student was there. I forgot to check that during the chapter I could ahve probably requireted that person so I missed out. When I checked ancient quarry there was only enemies , so who knows I might have missed a secret boss.

If it helps, the second playthrough section of that walkthrough will be the most helpful, but to answer your original question. It's a minimum of 2 playthroughs because of the choice from the Principal, and as far as I can tell (and according to the walkthrough), the final chapter is the earliest the principal will present you with the medal and master quartz.

Also relevant, if the walkthrough is correct, it's a minimum of 40 quests (no specific minimum BP) for that particular medal.

Oh well. I might just do it for my next full run of the game then. Or who knows might just speed run my way through. (it really bothers me to not see all achivements unlocked for a trails game :D)

I am actually thinkin of doing a speed run of FC one day (not as part of my marathon runs but as an extra since it should take about 1 day at most) , to get that special cutscene. For those who don't know if you get the minumum amount of BP , the cutscene with Cassius saving your ass changes and shows just how much of a BEAST that guy is.

Just make sure you bond with the characters you didn't bond with in your earlier runs.
