Bugged Recipe: Tomato Sandwich

The acquisition of the tomato sandwich recipe appears to be bugged.

I have purchased the Manly Munchies book that's supposed to provide the recipe from Keynes the moment it became available (May 23rd), but never recieved the tomato sandwich recipe.

I have tried repurchasing the book again (though the game forces me to sell the existing book in my inventory because I can't have more than one on me), but the recipe is still eluding me (now May 29th).

Any workarounds for this problem or later chances to acquire that recipe?

After purchasing the book, you have to use it as well. Search your inventory to find that book and use it once.

Books don't do anything until you actually use them.

Ah, okay.

I had gotten notes from previous books (Imperial Chronicle, Red Rose for examples) automatically the moment I purchased them, so I assumed you only had to buy the books.

The other books also need to be used. You will get a small friendship point bonus for doing so.

Yeah, found out about that as I checked the recipe book.

The Imperial Chronicle/Red Rose books threw me off. The former is the first I purchased, was never useable in inventory and immediately gave me the notes, so I kinda assumed that was how all books are supposed to work.
