Loa Erebonius strategies?
Even on Normal mode, this boss gave me trouble. Ended up having to spam S-Crafts. Now on Hard mode he can kill characters in 2-3 hits. I get the feeling that beating this boss using non-broken tactics is nearly impossible. But what did you guys do?

Right now I'm using Rean, Emma, Laura, Jusis, Fie, Alisa and Millium in my party. Also of note i have Rean equipped with the Vermillion master quartz and Emma with Thor. Everyone else is wearing their default MQ.

You should use the shining poms to boost your party's level up. That makes things a lot easier. If this is your second playthrough you should have two domination quartzes, make sure the two characters with it have strength buffs up and their S crafts should take off most of the bosses hp near the start.

Use any attacks that inflict burn/freeze, Also i recommend you to change Emma MQ to Pandora.

Where can Shining Poms be found?

Shining Poms only show up when you use Shining Pom Bait, and those are DLC items...

You should have some free ones per each playthrough, you unpack them through one of the menus

Change your emma to pandora to give her boost art atk. It could be wise to having one of your party member to standby and cast healing art whenever you need it. Anyway machias with high enough speed coud be very useful and maybe he will save the day if u use his burst drive at the right time

Use Arts Defense items and food to survive the huge hits. Also chain casting immunity spells helps.

To be honest, broken strategies is what the Cold Steel games encourage. Enemies and especially bosses usually hand you your ass in a straight mutual slugfest.

Keep Insight status on your characters, most of its attacks are physical in nature and can be evaded, including its big full-screen one. If you're on NG+, you could farm U-materials in order to create additional ultimate weapons, several of which give evasive boosts or farm cash in order to craft evergreens for additional evade and status protection. You want evergreens and energy bandannas on everyone anyway in order to ward off nightmare.

Try to inflict burn status on it, its damage is percentage-based meaning that it's huge on HP sponges.

You do want to be decent level too, because the final battle against Ordine takes Rean's level into account and you have no room for dirty tricks there, it's straight-up luck-based on higher levels if your level's too low.

If you want to cheese your way in this battle (or any other bosses in late game), do:

Moebius + Chrono Burst + Hurricane Hotpot + S-Break spams.

Rinse and repeat (except using Zeram Powder/Capsule to recharge CP).

If you don't want to do the above game breaking move, bring Rean, Laura, Alisa, and Millium with you. Equip Alisa with Angel, Millium with Force, Rean and Laura with Vermillion and Orochi. Also bump evasion of these characters to 50%. Put Domination on Laura for initial S-Craft boost.

Have Alisa use Heavenly Gift and Blessed Arrorw for Insight, HP regen, and CP recovery.

Millium will be responsible for cleaning up the mobs (hence Force). Rean and Laura will be the attacker here. Status effects like Burn helps a lot, since it dealt a percentage based damage.

If you want to use Emma, use Pandora + Silver Bell on her. Thors is much suited for Fie.

You definitely need to bump Rean's level up for the final boss battle with Ordine, since there is no room to cheese that battle.

Well.. You can have an easier time with Ordine if you look up the Rock-Paper-Scissors pattern beforehand.

It's not enough if you don't have a high level for higher difficulties. You can do everything perfectly (all stances right, qinggong always up to 50%, counting his number of link points) and it might still be down to luck with that one single use of morning moon preventing him from unleashing a link s-craft and getting you a counter

I just managed to beat him. I gave Laura Domination and I lucked out with a Critical turn bonus at the beginning, so I did over 70k damage with Laura's S-Craft. I also had Rean cast Adamantine Shield whenever he could and from there I had him and Fie delaying the boss and dealing as much damage as possible, with Jusis and Emma using art attacks. Toward the end I brought Laura back into the fray and had Alisa use Heavenly Gift, and I think that saved my skin because the Insight allowed 3 of my characters to dodge the boss's AOE attack. From there I had Rean use his S-Craft and that inflicted burn on him. I then whittled down the rest of his HP with crafts and that was that.

With strategies like these you kind of forget that the game can be very difficult otherwise. Like others said though, Cold Steel seems to be designed with cheesy strategies in mind.

Another general strategy that works really well is to have chrono burst on everyone, and have Machius using his craft that gives everyone it hits an immediate turn. In combination with Alisa's CP charging abilities you can really increase the number of turns you get relative to the boss. He moves people around a lot with his attacks, so it's hard to keep it up perfectly on everyone but it's still quite effective.

What is the recommended Level for Normal? My party is at Level 63 - 64 and it is impossible for me to kill this guy.
Hagen2900 8. sep. 2017 kl. 12.11
Your party's level is fine.
