Favorite Trails Character in general?

Who is your favorite character in a trails game whether it is Trails in the sky or cold steel.

Mine has to be Estelle. Not because I have many similarities with her or anything no not in the slightest but for some reason whenever she was feeling down , I also felt down and whenever she was happy I was also happy. I really connected with her in that her emotions got to me the most.

Other characters hit me too infact there is not a single character in the franchise that I dont like at the moment. (I pretty much like all of them) But Estelle will always be my number 1. On the outside she is an hairhead tomboy but thanks to the great dialogues of the trails games she is anything but a one trope character for me and I can't get enough of her.

Estelle ofc! the development she showed through the Sky Arc is 10/10. + She is just an awesome Arc

2nd fav. is Olivier! what an awesome troll he is! Also, his development from idgaf prince to this is 10/10!

Leonhardt. I don't think he will ever be replaced as my favorite character in the series.

I do have many favorite characters over the course of the series. My most favorite characters (in no particular order) are: Leonhardt, Crow, Rean, Kevin, Olivier, Lechter, and Campanella. I like pretty much all the characters in this series though.

Definitely Olivier for me. I remember exactly how he appeared for the first time in game and i was disturbed because i tend to dislike the kind of character that i took him for at the beginning.
But boy did he surprise me.

Just awesome character overall. Playing the kid role while being super playfully smug and trolling everyone, her reveal was epic and had a great buildup, her backstory was holy damn son!!! shocking. Good chara design with cool weapon and skills. Her dialogues with Estelle were certainly one of my favorite moments in Sky, and her slow growth out of Ouroboros was really something. Being close with Joshua/Loewe also gave her a big impact as a character and showed that even the villains aren't always terrible people. Pater-Mater is cool. :>

I really liked all of the characters actually, and playing 3rd was a blast meeting so many of them and being able to include them in the party.

Estelle and Joshua were a great duo, absolutely blew all my expectations and really showed the power of Sky's competent writing. At first I thought things are going to get corny and cliched after the many sibling-love implications but Sky really damn well played it all. Just perfect characters overall with great dynamic.

And Olivier is magnificently epic. Gave me so many suprises. :D I'm glad even Cold Steel had funny moments with him, this beautiful bastard.

@That's ich! Lol you got trolled. I admit I cheated there and reloaded after she showed up. XD
But Josette is cool? Capuas are a fun bunch. I actually beat the SC boss with her (more like with Kloe and Estelle, because she and Joshua got nuked into oblivion Lmao). I actually almost forgot about her, I think she is also one of my favorite Sky characters just for the bantz.

Carna maybe, but I'd take Josette over Kurt anyday. She also makes a reasonable Earth Wall/Buff/Heal bot.

Man that's a tough one, because much of the Sky crew was so well written. Perhaps it's telling that my final crew in those games was usually (whenever it could be) Estelle, Joshua, Kloe, and Olivier.

Estelle's character did such a great job of turning a trope on it's head and rising above it, she's brimming with positivity in a way that doesn't come off as foolish or pretentious. She feels like a living and breathing character throughout the Sky games. I really don't need to go on here.


Joshua had a similar "seems cliche but becomes something more", on the surface he seems borderline mary sue, but he's portrayed as actually one of the weaker characters from an emotional perspective. The fact of the matter is he ran away rather than face difficulty, that he failed to recognize the strength and value in having friends and family. And this sets him up for development, which the games capitalize on.

Joshua's not a good character because he's powerful, smart, or has a tragic backstory, he's a good character because he's emotionally flawed and weak, that he's scared, and more importantly, that others are able to help cover those weakness's for him.


Kloe is one of my favorite characters for numerous reasons, her determination, her strong moral compass, her character arc. The way she handles (3rd spoilers) being rejected by Joshua by taking it in stride and remaining good friends with him, as well as WHY she's able to do so (she said it's because she cares about both Joshua and Estelle) is powerful in its own way. In some ways she's tragic and lonely, but her determination, duty, and heart cause her to rise above all of that to do what needs to be done in most situations.


Do I really even need to talk about Olivier? He's practically the Trails series mascot at this point; he appears in every arc and is playable in three of the games. He's a welcome dose of humor injected into even some of the more tense scenes. I was a little disappointed in CSI that he really only had a few funny lines and was mostly serious and regal, but that doesn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying his character. Here's hoping we get a lot more Olivier in future games.


Of course there are a number of other characters I really loved, Cassius, Josette, Anelace, Scherazard, Tita, all of these characters were fantastic. There were a few characters in Cold Steel I enjoyed too of course, but not as much as my favorite characters from the Sky games.

The problem with Josette is that she is EASILY the worst character in terms of stats and usefulness. Even her dialogue in 3 unless its about her is not all that interesting. Infact Schwartreger , after you beat him Josette does not get any dialogue. Like the guy doesnt even mention her being there. Soooo yeah. I get why they included her , she is definetly the character to add but could have done more with her.

I personally couldn't care less how mechanically powerful a character is. They could be statistically the worst character in the franchise and I wouldn't really care as long as I liked the character. Conversely they could be an OP monster statistically, but if I don't like the character I'd almost never put them in my party.

I'd rather struggle through a fight (or even lose it) with characters I like than wipe the floor with my enemies using characters I hate.

Josette could have admittedly used more dialogue in the 3rd, although she got a moment or two here and there. But she's a fun character in previous games and the way she butts heads with Estelle can be rather entertaining.

Crow he is just super cool guy. second place will be Leonhardt i just like his title "The Bladelord".
