That said I wouldn't bother with Canon. It really isn't useful towards endgame.
Just go buy Criminal when able and use that on Emma till the final chapter, then switch to Pandora for bossing or Katze for grinding in the final dungeon. Alternatively stick to Emma's default MQ Mirage for now.
Due to how Emma has a locked Fire Quartz slot and two locked Mirage Quartz slots, using Master Quartz that isn't Criminal or Pandora means you won't be able to take advantage of zero AT delay after casting without wasting a universal quartz slot. I mentioned Katze because monsters in the final dungeon are exceptionally weak against Time Arts.
Similarly, Elliot works best with Aries or Angel due to his locked Quartz slot.
Unlimited Arts ftw
So EP usage really isn't an issue there. The main benefit of Aries is 50% reduction on AT delay after casting Water Arts, which when paired with Water Bell makes that 100% reduction.
EP usage is definetly an issue, considering how expensive Arts are.
I also used Angel + Gold Bell, Pandora + Silver Bell and Katze + Time Bell. But those can't fire as much Arts as Aries + Water Bell
Actually, I believe MQ has its own experience multipliers, so it doesn't matter whether you equip it on a low or high-level character, it'll still get the same amount of exp.
