ed8.exe stopped working?
Is it happening to anyone else?

ok i had this isssue but tried to fix it by just deleting DivX and now the movies won't play at all...and i don't have skip intro/logos checked....

You also said you uninstalled DivX properly and it fixed it

This issue is still happening to me. I don't have FFDshow or Divx codecs installed. If I let it sit, it eventually corrects itself, but it's constant enough to the point where I don't really want to play it until there's a fix.

I run a GTX 1070, all drivers are up to date.

Initially had this error when starting the game from launcher:

I removed my codec pack(CCCP) and now I'm getting this error:

I run on GTX 770M btw

Fixed on my computer by configuring Xvid (not DivX). Start->Xvid->Configure Decoder. And there I checked "Compatibility Renderer". And game isn't crashes anymore, all videos are playing normally.

I'm having this same issue. Game crashes immediately after launching even if I skip all videos, so I'm guessing it may not be video related. Just in case, I checked for all of the codecs talked about in this thread and didn't have any of them so couldn't uninstall them.

Even tried the method I had to use to get SC and 3rd to work (deleting galaxy.dll) but that wasn't the problem apparently since the game wouldn't launch at all.

Read how setting MSAA to 2x helped others with ed8 issues and tried that as well as toggling on and off just about everything else in the settings with no luck. Reinstalled game and made sure GPU (GTX 970) drivers were updated.

I love this series but EVERY game so far has given me issues for some reason. I just want to play :steamsad:
