Party Golf

How does 'Whacky Eight-Player' mode work?
I'm thinking of buying this game for the upcoming 'party' I'm having. I just wanna know how this mode actually works. I own 4 ps4 controller (I read that they are the only ones working in this mode) and 4 xbox 360/one controllers, which can I use best and how does this mode work? Just wondering before I end up buying this and finding out it doesn't work as I expected or something.
Cheers!

As far as I understand it, PS4 controllers work for this because the mode is activated by pressing the touchpad. You only need 4 controllers for this mode, so I'd recommend the PS4 ones.

Because Party Golf has 1-handed controls, 8 people can play together by using half of a controller each. So each player uses a thumbstick to aim and the trigger to take a shot. Pretty sure everyone gets their own powerup buttons too, but I don't remember what they are right now...

Hope this clears it up for you a bit!

Hi Renefoetsie :)

Jepp is pretty much spot on there (thanks for helping out the community Jepp :)).

You'll only need 4 controllers (8 controllers won't work currently, but this is something we are considering patching).

I would suggest using the PS4 controllers, but I believe we have patched the Xbox controllers to use the "Back" button to enable the mode. (You might want to test the xbox controllers first if you plan on using them lol in case I am wrong about us patching that).

To enable the mode, on player 1 (menu control)'s controller hold down the touchbar (PS4) or back button (Xbox360) or menu button (XboxOne). The display in the bottom left should change to have split colours on the controllers. On each of the other 3 controllers just touch the touchbar/back/menu button once to enable the splitting of that controller (allowing you to have between 5-8 players depending on how many people are around).

The second player also has powerup controls - For the right hand side the powerups are Circle/Square/Triangle), for the left hand side the powerups are the Dpad up/left/right. Most modes you play will only have one powerup, so it doesnt matter which of the three buttons you press.

Left hand side can also shoot with dpad down or the L2 button. Right hand side can shoot with X or the R2 button.

You can use a combination of xbox and ps4 controllers.

When using 8 players I recommend simpler modes, but if you find yourself with 4 players, of course all the modes are awesome :)

Have fun playing at the party! Let us know how you go.

Cheers,
Lindsay
