Mechanical Owl Quest Broken

I delivered the tantalum to the blacksmith with the mechanical owl, then spoke to the blacksmith and it reset the quest to start over again. Now I have to go back to the owl??? + lost tantalum :(

When I did it and talked to him, he still wanted me to send him Tantalum but if you click "buy" the hilt is now in the shop.

I'll give it a shot, that is weird! I was really tired when I finished the quest so I might not have been paying much attention-- still that seems like either a bug or a design flaw to me.

The robot to the East of the owl should be able to be talked to to progress in the story.That's what I did

I managed to get the sword hilt, it showed up in the shop as Whitepaw suggested, but the issue was the quest restarting itself so that wasn't immediately clear :)

I accidentally blew up the robot NPC to the east of the owl statue with a bomb when I thought I was on teh sword, is there a remedy to this?
