How do I fish?

Seems basic but I don't know how to start fishing, any help would be appreciated

First you need to make an ice drill, because there's ice over the water. Then you need to make a fishing rod. So go find a patch of water, and use the ice drill, then press E when nearby with the fishing rod equipped. This will bring up the fishing display. On the right side there's the white bar. It will eventually have a blue effect like a ripple appear. Press, and hold E immediately. If a blue fish doesn't appear on the bottom of the white bar, then you didn't time it right. If that's the case, let go of E and try again. Sometimes it randomly fails when reeling in a fish. I don't know why. You can get every type of fish this way, there's no special bait required that I know of. Your fishing rod will eventually break, but I think the hole you drilled in the ice stays until you exit to the main menu.
