EDIT: I refunded for now as I felt it wasn't worth the $9 however it looks like they've already added some clarifications to the store page and announced future updates. The way it looked right on release I was expecting it to just be abandoned, however if they follow through with some care I could see it getting to a better, worthwhile state. Will keep following it and may pick it back up if either things get a lot better or if it goes on sale a bit more. I really hope they make this into an enjoyable experience.

I was looking forward to this game/app but I'm not very impressed. I expected a productivity app, however it lacks a lot of features and polish other productivity apps I've tried have (gogh and Chill with You, namely). The customization and decorating seems like it could get fun, however you don't start with many items and have to slowly unlock things through specific daily tasks (more on that later) or through paid DLC (which didn't even show up on the store page until after I purchased).

Polish as well isn't great. It really feels like a somewhat low budget translation of a mobile app. A few things are left untranslated, the settings menu is limited, you can tell the menus and UI in general was designed for a mobile device and not much care has gone into this PC version, and to top it off there's seemingly no keyboard support, even all camera movement is entirely handled through the mouse.

Even in terms of productivity features it only has a Pomodoro, CountUp timer, ToDo list and diary. Additionally, the quantity of music and background sounds is very small compared to other apps.

Finally, it has a lot of leftovers from its mobile version, including dailies and a battle pass, which I'd imagine in the long term would feel more like a chore rather than something to help with productivity. Would've been nice if a more elegant stand in for unlocking cosmetics was added, such as currency rewards for timer completion or checking off to do items that WASN'T tied to fixed daily resetting expectations.

I will say, if you like the anime and characters there definitely is appeal in getting to hang out with them and see their dialogue, however that's maybe the only selling point I'd say this has over other apps. Other apps either have more features, polish, story and interaction, less live service and monetization, or some combination thereof. For similar prices too. Is this a bad game? No, but I expected more out of a first impression. Maybe after accumulating enough currency or spending more time with the game I'll find its niche, but I just think other games do what this does better.

Yuru Camp is one of my favorite titles. But even with all my love for it, I can’t recommend that anyone buy this game. It’s literally a direct port from phone version without any changes. The interface is identical, the sprites are often low-quality, and the controls haven’t been adapted for either a keyboard or a controller. It feels as if I’m running the game on an emulator, where, for example to walk, the game asks you to move the cursor over the arrow keys on screen, that were designed for touchscreens. I can’t bring myself to keep playing this, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else either. I genuinely love Yuru Camp, so it saddens me to see such a low level of quality in this game.

it turns out my yuru camp game has a productivity meter
