OPTIMIZATION SETTINGS
I've noticed that the majority of bug reports come from people running the game far below minimum system requirements. Usually on an integrated chip (example: "Intel HD 4000", etc.) instead of a dedicated 3D graphics card (example: a Nvidia or AMD card).

For those running the game at or below minimum system requirements, or just having any performance issues, here is a priority list of things that will improve performance.

(Biggest performance improvers on top)

  • Reduce Screen Resolution
  • Reduce Quality Presets
  • Toggle V-Sync (some setups run better with this off or on; turn on if GPU runs hot or "screen tearing" occurs)
  • Reduce shadow distance, or turn off shadows
  • Play in windowed mode (can resize manually)
  • Reduce LOD Bias to 1
  • Turn off anisotropic texturing
  • Turn off anti-aliasing
  • Turn off realtime reflections
  • Change Shadow Projection to "Stable Fit"

Additionally, you will want to reduce other applications/processes running at the same time as the game.

Also, be patient. If your computer is below minimum requirements, the load times will take longer and may even appear to get hung up. Allow your computer enough time to catch up.

If your computer does not meet the memory requirements, then you should not run the game at all. Running out of memory will likely crash the game.

There will be more optimization passes done as development continues, but also new and more complicated features such as pedestrian and vehicle AI. FPS stability should improve over time, but I don't think minimum system requirements will.

I hope this helps with anyone running the game on lower-end computers, or having any performance issues.

¿¿PUEDO CORRERLO??

CAMERA CONTROLS

Please note that there is an option under Settings to change the Camera back to the old version, if you prefer that way.

I have a problem with this game - it's the only title that cause my CPU to overheat and my pc to shut down completely (the overheat and shutdown happened just once but the temperature increases rapidly every time I launch it - that's why i don't do that anymore which is sad as I've paid for the game...). After just two minutes of playing the temperature increases to 72 degress (celsius) which doesn't happen in other titles (AAA titles such as Witcher 3 or GTA V for example). One thing worth mentioning is that it happens both on high and low graphics settings. My pc is AMD FX8350, R9 390 8gb, 8gb ram. Is there any solution to this as it seems it's not a global issue and people normally play this game?

When something like this occurs, it's generally a red flag that your PC needs a little TLC. CPUs and GPUs are designed to throttle down at high temps and the only thing that could prevent this is a virus, outdated drivers, or faulty components. General software and games can't make your CPU/GPU overheat to the point of crashing because the driver software manages those limits. You would see significant stuttering or a software crash before a full PC shutdown. Even then it would require running them at 100% for excessive time.

PROBLEM:

The following issues may be present:
- drivers need updated
- dusty components / poor ventilation
- inadequate power supply / cooling
- failing hardware components

SOLUTION:

- Ensure V-Sync is turned ON in the Settings menu. This will limit FPS and thus CPU/GPU usage.
- Update all your drivers.
- Ensure computer is clean and free of dust.

So i bought this game yesturday and there was no lag what so ever although it did make my computer VERY hot (same problem as stated above). The day after i bought it i started the game and it started to lag alot, i've tried lowering all the preformance setings (eventhough it worked perfectly fine yesturday) and there was still just as much lag. Tried starting other games like Rome 2 and GTA5 and they work perfectly fine.

My question is are you going to solve this problem or should i just get my money back? ...it's a lovely game so id hate to returne it

In my situation it was my pc's fault (cpu cooling precisely). I forgot to reply to this

Hi! Thanks for buying and I'm sorry you're having some trouble. We can certainly find a solution :)

If you have a beast PC, turn on V-Sync in Settings (V-Sync: every frame). This will limit it to 60fps and keep things from running hot.

If not, please send me a bug report using the in-game Bug Report button so I can have more info to work with (it attaches a screenshot and PC specs to the report automatically).

Thanks!

I definitely have the right requirements. For me, the game runs fast on the menus and there's a fast loading time, but my fps drops below 10 as soon as I have to pick a character to play as.

It's been tested on several machines near min. requirements to get at least 30 FPS. Did you try adjusting the different settings listed above?

It's also a good idea to verify the Steam cache and ensure the install/update went correctly. A lot changed in the v1.0 update.

3fps on a 3900 with RTX2080 and nothing else running is pathetic. I run sims fullscreen at substantially higher settings. My guess is the game is a crypto-miner. Uninstalled and purged from my account.

Just a quick info, I also had loads of performance issues.

Here's what I did :
  1. Activated windowed mode
  2. Moved the mouse cursor OUT of the game (move it on the taskbar, you'll still be able to control the game with keyboard/controller) <= This one gave me a huge performance increase (3 FPS => 60+FPS)
