Digimon Masters Online

Features to improve dmo
Here's a list of improvements that should be seriously taken under consideration to bring in both an increased revenue from new players and to attract new players to increase the revenue.

Update the digimon models, of course this being the biggest undertaking it would take quite a while, but seriously update the player and digimon models, technology has made a huge jump in the past 8 years, you dont have to start from scratch but at least smoothing models would improve aesthetics as well.

Update lighting, shaders and shadows. lighting is set from 1 position, generally directly above regardless of location of where the lightsource would feasibly be. Dynamic lighting and a day and night cycle has been standard for years now in current MMOs. Shadows need to be updated, they look extremely pixelated.

Extend maps, create new farming maps, give us more locations, use current maps and extend them, create new areas. Take away the teleporting gates and use this space between maps to increase size, update the maps as well, make them look less 2D.

Remove player shops entirely, yes player shops are a thing, they also plague and lag out dats ch1. Instead use an auction house system, this means that prices players set will balance out more because they can see trends of items without having to go to 100 different shops, there is /shopfinder <Name> but that doesnt show me where they are and doesnt help me find what i want.

Reduce price of crown shop, it should not be $10 to gamble on getting something in game where im not even guaranteed the item, the game is far too p2w and this is primarily being that items in the premium shop are far too expensive for any player to get value out of money. $10 for 100 crown is plenty but not if it gets me 1 damn item, i should feasibly be able to by 2 or 3 items with $10, doing this will also lower the price to purchase premium items with player money meaning that players wont monopalise the game because they have a tonne of cash. If you lower the price for crown items more people will buy crown to get these items.

Character block, this is a feature that just exists to annoy players, just remove this entirely for all items that arent for quests or from events. Let players trade their items. E.g. data is so expensive despite being easily abundant but most is character blocked the prices would dip meaning more people will want to buy it from player to player.

Unlimited archives, dont block players on getting that new digimon they want, at level 1 5 is fine but at least set it to progression locked.

On that topic, a lot of stuff should be progression locked, 4th merc slot, this is a $10 item, make more content for the game and make players want to play through the main questlines to get this, the same should be said for inventory space and warehouse space.

Storage, simple one, expand it, inventories should be maximum 200 items, 50 per bag. 30 per bag at level 99 if you follow the progression system, then make the larger player inventories a chip or backpack dropped from higher level raids or dungeons. Warehouses, space needs to go up as well, unless you remove the character block on a lot of items in that case warehouse is fine.

Character transfer, dont let what happened on seraphimon happen to other players, allow us free transfers, recognise that all other servers are mostly dead compared to omegamon, allowing free transfers for 6 months would bring back old players 100%.

Im not sure on the specifics how GDMO is hosted but clearly after allowing players to migrate for a decent amount of time close the other servers, keep the data of all players that didnt transfer and have them send in a ticket to retrieve it or outright delete it after a certain period of time. Apply more resources to omegamon or just have a couple servers instead of 5 because currently 4 are essentially dead. This comes back to extending the map, with the influx of players larger maps or more channels will be necessary as well as the auction system.

Balance the drop rate for maze, this has been requested for years, the drop rate for quests in maze is far too low, even if its increased a bit where i dont have to spend 10+ hours doing 1 quest.

Report system, have the report option in game open a window to submit a ticket.

Have active GMs, the current system to detect bots is just a captcha, people can get around this by watching the game on a second monitor while they play something else or watch a movie it should be GMs who should be invisible to players, go to where a ticket is submitted and determine whether botting is occuring. If players found out that GMs were actively doing this they wouldnt bot, or botting would be less common. Improve the community this way and more players will come. Bans should actually merit respect. 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Month, 1 Year or perma bans should be enforced for players hacking and not following the rules.

Fix the chat system and UI. Update the chat system, the swearing filter should be more dynamic rather than picking up on letters and scrambling them it should look for words. I cant say goodnight in the game without '♥♥♥' being scrambled. Update the Ui to be more flexible or more dynamic, have chat hidden when not typing, make UI partially transparent and take up a reasonable portion of the screen. Make the chat family friendly but not so restrictive. Furthermore, make whispers become closeable tabs so i can whisper to more than one person at a time. Another simple change, allow the map to be switched from square to circle.

Increased view distance, its very annoying to have player models and digimon come in and out of view at a very short render distance.

You have a monopoly on the only decent digimon MMO for PC. There is a gigantic market you can dig into. These are just some suggestions, please consider these and seriously look into the possibility of actually implementing at least some of these features. Of course large visually issues would take a very long time but they are necessary to bring the game into 2019.

This might be a long shot but speak to bandai, you've plastered their logo all over the website so it musnt be for show. You could fast track a lot of this work if you acquire assets from other digimon IPs.

These are all the features i can think of off the top of my head, please read this in depth and discuss it with whoever to get it done. If the time i have taken to write this and it doesnt demonstrate my love for your game then im not sure how else to show it.

Also, fix the english in the game, for a game that is in english a lot of the names of digimon, quests etc. including descriptions are in broken english
