is this game playable without paying?

can i play this game and progress as free player? will i be able to get tamers and more stuff? is it hard to get them? what about outfits, pets, mounts (or whatver), are they hard to get if i dont pay?

Take this comment post with a pinch of why? Cause.

1. When i played this game years back (2010-2011) on the game king launcher. I only got about half way into all the quests at the time before i just left the game kinda wish i didn't now.
2. Now am playing it all over again this year on steam there are few more new places i have yet to go to or went to but didn't mean to like the File Island so idk about all the new content yet or maybe how hard everything in the game is.

Anyways let me give you a small taste of what its been like for me so far.

The game gives you a bunch of stuff out of the bat tons of healths / SP energy items now for starting and other goodies and that the start map has had a huge change from what it used to be but with all these goodies seems you be hardly using them i still got tons of left over stuff from the start on me.

The game tho hasn't been treating me very nicely. Once i've finished the western area quests well most i could do with my starter digimon as i've gotten to the point of dungeons being unlocked. I thought as i was stuggleing a bit in the area you can start dungeons to moved on to the snow village area and come back to that area with a stronger digimon. So i stop progressing the main qwests to get my fav digimons of all time. Guilmon as i remembered doing something like this last time to say goodbye to the starter digimon you get for starting.

But so far used 24 eggs and out of these 24 eggs only one, yes ONE! Has ever made it to level 3 aka the lowest you can even hatch (higher is better) So out of spending quite few weeks grinding away for all the low data and all those 24 eggs to use the data i have yet to get a level 4 and i am starting to get quite grumpy at the game due to this.

It wasn't this hard to hatch eggs years ago but seems now days the chance of it is super low aka needing to spend tons on hatching backups just so you could get a level 4 or 5 more easier, otherwise lot more grinding of trying and failing to do it. This is tainting my enjoyment of this game, idk how much more grinding is gonna be required till i can at least a get a level 4 without paying money to them for backups protections.

So i think they have increased the pay to win elements since 2011 but like i said have yet to make it to the point of other stuff or even do the level that has those super speed shoes everyone seems to use, so idk how far you really can progress as a free user but getting off the starter digimon you get for me has been a pain as a free user 6 weeks of my life gone and still no level 4 seen not even once. I'll be happy to alteast get a level 4 sure level 5 better but at this point i'll just be happy with that.

answering your questions:
YES u can progress in the gane even if u are a free player. Its a bit difficult but u can progress because the quest to lvl up are the same for all.

About tamers and stuff u can get it but is complicate, tamers you can get it on events (easy way) or in the game (difficult way). Why difficult? because if u can pay for tamers you can buy to another players with TERAS (money in the game that u can get it form killing digimons, but teras are like a million of bitsand defetead digimons give u bits) or make the digicolliseum and changing the special coins that you win on it, but in this case u can only get the tamers from digimon adventure and could be ramdom. AND stuffs only buying from other players with teras too.

ABOUT outfits only on events because you can buy some parts but dont give you special habilities like the ones from events. PETS or digimons you can get the majority of digimons without paying but in both cases (paying or not) can be excellents or horribles. Fortunately now you can get a daily mission in whch u can get a ramdom digiegg that could be good or not(5/5 perfect, 4/5 good, 3/5 bad). Regarding to mounts(riding mode) depends of the digimon some are easy other complicated and others u need to pay with cash. But u can get a lot in the game without paying.

Sorry for my english, I`m from LATAM and my english isn`t good. If u need something else i try to help u.
But before play keep on mind that there are a lot of cheaters players that make the experience of the game be bad for not saying horrible. but a part from that if u get a friend in the game could be a good experience.

thank you everyone for the answers, i read all of them and i see that its kinda hard for free players
i guess i wont play this because i dont like grinding or doing hard stuff , as you all said it is possible but not for me i think

It is very possible to do so but obviously can be difficult. Best way to go about it is to stick with your starter digimon and focus on acquiring a bunch of eggs for a good digimon to hatch. As the odds of hatching a digimon that isn't a reinforced 5/5 egg is going to have low odds of hatching.

As you progress through the game the game will give you a free Growth Fruit which will give your starter digimon the size of a 5/5 digimon which is quite good. Growth fruit used to be really viable but since transcendence was introduced you NEED a 5/5 egg to get more powerful in the late game.

So focus on getting a good digimon that has a strong burst or jogress to 5/5. If it's a jogress digimon you only need one of the digimon to hatch as a 5/5. However, using your smaller digimon for the jogress will result in it being weaker. So be sure to use the larger digimon whenever possible.

If you grind a bunch of Tera you can also just straight up buy 5/5 digimon from other players which is a really good method of getting what you want instead of relying on rng.
