How's the combat system?

Like the title says, how's the combat. Is it fun, is it a chess match, is it similar to the pokemon games? The single video they have on the steam page doesn't show how the combat actually works.

MMO style movement, Raid bosses, double click to standard attack, f1-f3 for skills, etc...standard MMO pretty much.

Not a problem. If you're looking for turn based Digimon games, here are a few alternatives I recommend, some older and some newer:
Digimon World 3 [PS1] (know as Digimon World 2003 in PAL), Digimon World Data Squad [PS2], Digimon Dusk/Dawn [DS], Digimon World DS [DS], Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth [PS4/PS Vita]

There are more but these are the ones I suggest, though I can't vouch personally for the last one I've heard pretty good things about it. Hopefully you find something you like! And if you want to go to the original Digimon World formula, here are a couple to try out:
Digimon World [PS1] and Digimon World Re:Digitize [PSP] (this one is JP only HOWEVER if you look up a translation patch with Romsstar and SporkyMcForkinspoon you'll have a good English adventure, I'd know I was one of the editors for the patch)
