To be honest for a visual novel, especially one of the more well made ones like this even if it is a port of an all ages version and older, for $20 dollars even at base price with no sale, I think that's pretty good. To buy Shuffle Essence+ on DMM in Japan it's the equivalent of $60. Though that is understandable and common in the Japanese market for various reasons.

Well, okay, there is the thing that Anime, Manga and Games cost so much originally. But I question if they even understand basic economics at all. I get it that there is the production cost one has to get back. And the market only has so many people that are interested in the product. But the common people aren't willing to pay such an enormous sum of money for only a passing interest. Only the absolute hardcore fans with enough money will. The few hardcore fans will earn them all their money.

But a digital game license has basically no shipping cost at all. The sale will even stop completely in 3 days. I would give that game to as many people as possible to get as much fame/reputation in addition to the money that will earn instead of excluding 99% of the interested playerbase.

But who knows, maybe I overestimate, or even underestimate, how many people are interested in Anime/Manga/VisualNovel... and how much money a very cheap selling price would generate.

*shrug* everyone is free to do with their money what they want.

But I can do better things with my money than buying every random Visual Novel on Steam for 10€ each. Especially when they are years old and censored. And there are more than 250 different ones already on Steam. I like Anime, alright, but I am not the biggest Visual Novel fan.

I would rather buy the AAA title Dragon Ball Xenoverse for 5€ in an Steam Sale. Personally I will enjoy it 10x more and even save money.
I just don't know why you're adding your two cents when clearly nobody here agrees as everyone else in this thread has said if there's a 50% off sale they'd gladly buy it. All you're doing is encouraging them not to do a sale even though many people here would love it.

I would recommend them to do a sale with an discount as high as possible, so that as many people as possible buy it. Everyone with an passing interest. Not just the hardcore fanboys with enough money. Everything else would be shamefully wasteful.

Sorry that I have my own opinion and we live in an world where you are free to share it. Good for you and everyone else in this thread if you are big Visual Novel fans and are willing to pay 10€, but not 20€. The decision to do a sale or not doesn't lie on my shoulders, and I don't even have any influencing power in that regard either.

Based on VNDB Shuffle is over 30 hours and from what I heard the translation is that it is pretty solid. Navel is usually considered to make higher quality VNs and I think in general with the market outside Japan it is especially hard to get people to pay for visual novels especially if they are over like 30 dollars and the VN market is fairly new, at least in the way it is now, since in the 2000s it was much different and wasn't the same emphasis on wanting to get higher quality translations or higher quality VNs to be licensed. For a 30+ hour VN there is a great amount of text present and likely technical work to be done. For that, I think 20 dollars is fair for the previous reasons I stated especially when selling it to the English speaking market. I think 20 dollars is pretty cheap for a base price considering it went on sale for 50% off many times making it 10 dollars. I think they probably should've done a sale, even if it was their standard 50% one. The only time this release got this much attention was when it was announced and released like a month after the announcement. This was because MangaGamer had lost the license earlier that same year and people were shocked by this move from a company they never heard of. If they could've done a discount, they probably should've done one now when more eyes than usual are on Shuffle that they could capitalize on at the last minute.
After days of waiting for a final discount I finally bought it full price I am a little bit dissapointed with the publisher but ok I guess

Imagine if it was suddenly removed without a notice. Would that be better?
I am personally grateful that they didn't. At least we had a chance to buy it.

I am grateful too for the oportunity. I waiting for the discount because here in Argentina we have to pay a 64%+ from taxs of buying anything outside.

Thanks for making this post. I almost forgot that that's what I intended to do.
Well,no discount until this moment so this means who I'm don't buy :ggxrdmillia:
Not surprising due to the almost complete lack of communication from Yumehaven since they were formed and released Shuffle.
No more discounts, buy in advance
Only going to be around for a few more hours so pretty much the last chance.
