now for mobius, for me mostly a mobile experience since i dont have the time to sit at a PC and game with kids and a full time job... if i'm forced to not play for 2 weeks, do you think i give a crap when the game is working again? 1) i've already picked up another game by then and 2) i feel a lot less drive to go back to the first game... and to my other points criticizing mobius game in general, those all contribute to me not feeling like going back as much because let's be honest, the fun i was having was not what it was in years past. it wasnt fresh, it wasnt provocative... it was grinding and power creep associated need to grind or fall behind.
it was a fundamental error on SE's part by letting the iOS thing go on for as long as they did AND by failing to significantly compensate those impacted. if they had tossed me the equivalent of the missed tablets, gilgamesh passes, magicite, summon tickets, seeds, extrangers, prismatic fractals, elixirs that i missed by not playing for 21 days... well that'd be not only fair but also kind and good customer service. but they did not EVEN COME CLOSE. offering 1500 magicite to people who had vip active... like its a refund? gtfo are you serious?
=f mobius final fantasy, you were like a girlfriend i was head over heels for for years but in the end got fat and ♥♥♥♥♥♥, so i'm over you.
Some people tried to ask SQEX_Glacie if the developers could make an offline edition, but SQEX_Glacie said it might difficult for them to make an offline edition in six months, so I will just hope on the modders, because MFF has a lof good assets, such as the OST and Artwork and it would be a shame for them too just let it go, but that is wishful thinking.
Either I am ready to say good bye to Mobius, but until then I will play Mobius until it's gone(despite the facts I have hopes for offline edition official or not, plus SQEX_Glacie did say special stuff was planned in lieu of the end of service( I heard rumors that we might a get a dev/test area in the final 2 months *fingers crossed. also plus* that is 5 gigs freed up on my phone lol)
It was fun while it lasted but goodbye, i am in hiatus now and probably not even bothered to login soon.
We had a very active discord and reddit community for the game. People on both JP and global. Game was rated very positive on Steam, SE constantly doing events every month or two. New content regularly. Still so much content from JP version not in global.
Then suddenly, plug pulled OUT OF NOWHERE.
Square Enix makes enough money to support the game until the end of time.
Why did they decide to suddenly axe it? Because it wasn't making as much as FGO or any of their other mobile games which are extreme gacha trash? Did they need more money for FF7's remake? It just got delayed, now Mobius is shutting down. (correlation does not equal causation, I know, shush)
Now, all this unique FF story content is going to disappear. The crossover events were some of the best out there, and the FFX story was probably the best I've ever seen; a fully unique chapter with the original voice actors from 15 years ago. Nothing else comes close.
And just, all poof.
I've been losing respect for SE over the years (especially as an FFXIV player), but this just made it plummet like felling a tree.
Genuinely disgusted.
listen so I bought a bag of chips the other day
and then I finished eating it and now I don't have a bag of chips
was I being foolish
I imagine at one time SE realized they had something special in MOBIUS but the feeling must have faded. They could easily keep this game afloat & build further, they must be just ready to move on. At least someone high up is...
I won't be touching any other of their FF mash-up attempts. This game did it perfectly & never left me feeling confused or out of place.
The biggest lose here might be how this is the only (i'm unsure of others, tbh) surviving modern turn-based FF game.
i mostly myself just collected the goodies over time since it was an tablet energy zapper kinda
but now im working on it pc side now that im able and its pretty fun.
six months might be enough to finish the main story hopefully.
