(spoilers) I'm stuck; am currently a decent amount of the way into the game

I've done a bunch of trials so far; I think the last trial I did was the one inside the castle/temple/whatever involves singing into a microphone to get a car to win a race.

I've got a pretty large amount of items so far. I have the megasword, the bridge, candle, autocorrect skates, and almost every key, except the yellow key. I've also been seeing a bunch of purple keys all over the place, and have been inside the tree (that you get the bridge nearby from), but haven't figured out the puzzle or whatever is going on in there. I notice that when I try to insert an orange key, it says that the key is unavailable, even if I have an orange key in my inventory. I've also gotten myself painted orange (which I notice colors all of my keys orange), and tried to go back to the tree after doing so, but have yet to accomplish anything by doing that. Is there something I'm overlooking here?

You don't get an orange key from the keygen. You get an orange key the way you've already gotten it.

You need to power up your sword.

My recommendation is take the bridge with you everywhere. It is literally the solution to tons of puzzles.

Thanks; I'd used the bridge in a lot of places already, but hadn't thought to use it on the west side of the gem maze (just south of the castle/temple/whatnot).
