Where do the fairies go?

I had 20 something fairies then winter came and then I was down to like 5. They don't seem to die but they just leave to go somewhere else. Anyone know where they go? I have a palace built on my new dripple bush but still the fairies leave.

Are there other groves with better housing? If so what are their rates? How do you compete with a mysterious entity?

Any help is appreciated.

I bet they are hungry. Make sure that you have lots of pantrys full of food!

Are trees better than bushes? If I build the higher do the fairies like it more?

Also I shot fireworks into the forest, no fire. Aren't they suppose to, you know, work? It didn't even light up the trees. I had to cast light to see them.

There should be a message that flashes up in the centre of the screen with the reason why a faerie left. Lemmie know if that's not appearing for you and I'll look into it.

There are only two reasons why a faerie leaves, not enough food and not enough sleep. If the food or housing is out of range, the food or sleep meters can max out while the faerie is flying there.

Ya I got the messages which is why I know it is a real estate thing not a hunger games problem.

But no one seems to answer my questions. Where do they go? Where do the fairies come from even? Am I stealing fairies from other groves? Is their a limit to how many there are in the universe?

Also why no fires?

They could move to the forest to the left, the forest to the right, or toward the forest on the horizon. If they leave via the fourth wall, that's definitely a bug.

You should save your game with insufficient resources, and then count the number of fairies inside your house before and after the event wherein the fairies leave your village. This will allow you to determine what part of your house is gathering too many fairies.

I looked inside the houses, there is on room and no furniture. Fairies just sleep where they drop and lack a digestive track or it is so impressive they have no waste from the food they eat. Truly a magical creature.
