This game from 2016 was from a small new Studio named World-Loom. Graphics arent so good like others. Not much HOG Scenes, puzzles like usual but some still tough. Sound okay. Game length with all achievements/ falcons okay. The story is good. 2 Men want rescue one beloved girl. You could get immortality, but here even the evil want rescue someone else & *Spoiler* "make an Darth Vader choice".

I enjoy it because the story. Good for achievement hunters. Buy it with discount.

I simply loved this game. It was made by World-Loom and published by Artifex Mundi, and it doesn’t disappoint at all. I enjoyed the alchemy system, it made the game more interesting! It’s a beautiful HOG and definitely one of my favorites right now.

9/10. There are flaws, but I don’t care. I still love it and I recommend this title to all HOG fans.

I can't say I enjoyed this game. It was too repetitive for my taste. The art was fine, the music was nice but the puzzles were way too much. Most of the gameplay was about 'finding a recipe', find two or three ingredients, then mix them with a puzzle! this freaking puzzle every single time. I like alchemy but not like this.

I didn't like the main character's voice over, the funny thing is that sometimes the sound chipped and became muffled! Besides, not all the conversations are fully voiced, unless I'm missing this in my game.

The only good thing about the game is the artwork because the story was.. kind of strange! especially the ending and the reason why this whole thing happened. It was so frustrating, and there was no bonus chapter to explain all of this. Still, the art of this game made me play until the end, but I've lost interest in the story halfway through because of the repetitive puzzles.

I'm sorry I can't recommend this game, I couldn't even finish it in one day although it was really short, the game was so boring and too repetitive for my taste.

Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom is a very decent Hidden Objects Game (HOG). It's definitely not a genre-breaking HOG so you won't find many superlatives in this review. On the contrary, Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom is actually a very formulaic HOG but that also means it ticks all the boxes so I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good HOG from time to time. If you're only looking for the best of the best in the genre, I advise you to keep looking.



You've been away to university and return home to your 'uncle', who's a powerful alchemist, to finish your training. The alchemist isn't really your uncle but he raised you as his own daughter after the disappearance of your parents.

Your homecoming isn't what you'd expected, though. The people live in fear as the streets are patrolled by golems and a mysterious vigilante casts an ominous shadow over the kingdom…

Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom's story is basic and not at all groundbreaking, but it's engaging enough to keep you interested while going from one puzzle to the next.

Also worth mentioning: although Lost Grimoires has grown into a series of three parts by now, the story of Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom is completely wrapped up at the end, so there is no cheap cliffhanger or the likes at the end of this first game.



Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom's gameplay is standard HOG. That means it plays a bit like a point & click adventure game but with even more focus on puzzle-solving. You solve all kinds of puzzles but one recurring type of puzzle is the 'hidden object puzzle' (HOP) that shows you a scene cluttered with objects and requires you to spot specific items in that scene.

The game is divided into several sections, each consisting of three to five scenes, and you can never go back to the previous sections. As a consequence, the 'point & click adventuring' involves very little backtracking. That's not a bad thing at all, of course, but it does reduce the challenge level of the game. Ususally I take notes to keep track of the items I need to look for, but in the case of Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom that wasn't necessary.

With less than 10 HOPs overall, Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom is the HOG with the least HOPs I've played. Whether that's a good or a bad thing is entirely subjective, but I do want to stress that most of the HOPs that are present at least show a measure of creativity. For instance, instead of having to look for a number of random items, you often need to find parts for a larger, story-related object.

The other puzzles are well-executed, as well. And even though almost all puzzles start to look like a variation on puzzles you've seen before if you played a number of HOGs, Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom manages to make its puzzles look and feel somewhat original. Most importantly, the puzzles are fun. I didn't find any of the puzzles frustrating or simply a case of trial and error.

Since the story revolves around an alchemist and an alchemist apprentice, alchemy is a substantial part of the game. The developer created a puzzle to represent the creation of potions and such by rearranging molecules. Kudos for that.

Another nice little feature is that you get to fully customize the difficulty of the game. Besides the standard difficulty modes to choose from, there is an option that allows you to set each of the difficulty options (whether HOPs glimmer, whether interactable spots sparkle from time to time, how fast you want the hint button to recharge, how severely misclicking in a HOP should be punished, etc.) yourself.



The graphics of Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom are fine for a HOG. Like in most HOGs I think the scenes look very nice but static. I don't understand why they don't add some ambient moving objects a bit more often. It would lighten up the scenes so much more with so little effort, really.

The music is an atmospheric neoclassical score of high quality. The sound effects are sharp and spot on. The voice acting is fairly mediocre, with the exception of the protagonist's voice actress who sounds a bit more convincing than her colleagues. Turns out she's Kristin Price (although credited in this game as Kristin Price-Wilson), the same actress who voiced the protagonist in Artifex Mundi's Enigmatis series and the protagonist in Left in the Dark: No One on Board, another HOG published by Artifex Mundi, and who did a terrific job in those games.

The 13 Steam Achievements focus mostly on not skipping puzzles, not using hints and other skillful puzzle-solving. That's the way it should be because that's the only challenge in HOGs anyway. In each of the 29 scenes of the game you can find a small bird hidden somewhere. Three of the achievements are tied to finding these birds.

If you like Hidden Object Games (seek and find, puzzles, point and click), then games from Artifex Mundi are for you.

As a long-time Artifex Mundi fan, it's so exciting when one of their developers' adds new mechanisms to the game. There's some clever new ways introduced for for the hidden-object pieces of the game.

Good storyline, our favourite voice actress heroine from many good Artifex Mundi games, and a cute little cat-like munchkin with curly horns shows up throughout. Loved collecting the various alchemical recipes.

Nice mellow few hours of gameplay.

When your teacher is accused of the worst crimes, you must prove his innocence... However, a mysterious vigilante and amulet will also help you to find what's happening... and even uncover secrets of the past concerning your parents.

Lost Grimoires is set in a fantasy world where you're learning magic stuff. The plot is quite nice as your reality is shaken and truth about family is shocking (well for the character but it can cause some uneasy feelings for some). Anyway, what I really liked from the plot is the interaction with villagers.

The gameplay is standard: bring objects into your inventory, combine them, use them, solve puzzles and clear hidden objects scenes. The game is well-balanced in terms of difficulty. The add of alchemy spells is also making this game interesting.

Graphics are correct and really making you feel like in a fantasy/medieval town. The soundtrack is nice.

Anyway, Lost Grimoires is a nice game, though there are better out there. I've enjoyed it, so I recommend it without problems.

The game is very story rich, it has all features you expect from a Hidden-Object Game. Such as variety of puzzles, nice story occurences, variety in hidden objects puzzle, hint system & difficulty modes. The story is also very nice written and catches you within it. I recommend to purchase this one on sale, due to that it is played through in 3 hours while some others you play for 6 hours to finish it.

In a far off mystical land lives a young woman who was raised by a powerful alchemist, Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom lets us step into her shoes as she returns home at a very inopportune time. Her land is in chaos under the rule of a seemingly mad king. This hidden object game has a very intriguing story accompanied by fun gameplay and beautiful graphics. Using your knowledge of alchemy, you can create many useful potions to progress in the game. Can the apprentice solve the mysterious around her and bring peace to land once more? Only with your help, of course.

Our heroine returns home from school to the master alchemist that raised her after her mother’s death and father’s disappearance. As if timed by fate, her house is broken into by a masked thief searching for a magical amulet. It’s this event that starts the ball rolling as the story quickly develops into political intrigue and family secrets. I won’t spoil how things turn out, I will say that while some parts are predictable it was all very well written and more in depth than most games in this genre. My only issue with the story was the main villain's motives. While this person wasn’t totally evil and believed the ends justified the means, it didn’t explain why they nearly destroyed the entire kingdom to do it.

This title is a hidden object adventure game, it mixes aspects of a point and click game with lots of fun hidden object scenes as well other mini games. Players use their computer mouse to do everything, move across maps, play the games and talk to other characters. You’re given an in-game map that allows you to teleport for quick traveling and, depending on the difficulty you’re on, will show you where an action needs to be performed. You have an inventory to hold items as well as a book to hold your potion recipes, these are found throughout the game. This alchemy aspect is the most unique feature, combining certain items will make a useful potion but to do this you have to perform a mini game each time. The mini game itself is simple, aligning colored orbs correctly but the more complicated the recipe the harder the mini game, however I found myself doing just fine on almost all of them. The hidden object scenes are fun and vary from a worded list of objects to find to seeing what the objects look like and trying to find them in the scene. There are also mini games but these didn’t prove to be difficult at all.

The graphics are great, vibrant colors and beautiful scenery. My only issue is the faces of some of the characters and the animation of these faces when they spoke, sometimes it came off as creepy. All of the hidden object scenes are well done, items are rendered well and not blurry. The game has full voice acting, fans of Artifex Mundi games will find the main character’s voice very familiar, as well as a certain crow that shows up. Most of the actors do a very good job, a few are hit-and-miss but overall everything sounded well done. The music in the game fits the setting and isn’t distracting but it’s also nothing too memorable. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I applaud Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom for offering players a pretty solid story with a few twists and turns as well as the new gameplay element of making alchemy potions. Usually in games that involve potion making, I’ve found that it’s a rarely use aspect on the game but here it’s front and center. Veteran hidden object game fans may find this title a bit on the easy side. It’s also a little short with no bonus chapter. The achievements are also relatively easy to gain in one playthrough. But this is still a fun game to play and I look forward to more like this. It also has Steam trading cards if you fancy collecting those along with your achievements. I recommend buying this game, not necessarily on sale, but I feel you will enjoy it if you add it to your library.
