Whenever I launch the game, it wants to install the VC dist

Whenever I launch the game, Steam installs the VC dist again. Is there any way to stop this?

I remember that there was a porblem with another game and the tip was to delete a file. A quick google search turned this up, posted by a Moderator "Go to where Endless space is installed (probably C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Endless Space or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Endless Space) and delete any files ending in .vdf (ie admin.vdf, installscript.vdf)."
