The majority of games I play are single player, or I choose to play them single player.
That said, I believe (optional) MP would only benefit the franchise. The OP even stated, "you dont see a real farm with only one guy." Hired workers aside, if one decided to invest in expanding up to 5 seperate maps, that's a lot of management for one person. In fact, based on how they developed it that way offers more of a reason to have MP included IMHO. It's been said that crops will continue to grow while you're visiting other areas. Since it's a simulator, one can presume there will be withering (perhaps a toggle will be included to turn that off). On top of that, the time scale cannot be set at 1, I believe the slowest is somewhere around 5x IIRC. You talk about a challenge? Well it will certainly be one maintaining a combined massive area solo, if one decides to explore all aspects the game offers.
It's fairly obvious they have planned substantial single player gameplay/campaign already. So I'm not sure where the worry is coming from about the single player experience from other posters, IF they devs decide that implementing MP is a good move.
Another thing to keep in mind, Pure Farming is essentially going to be competing with Farming Simulator. Personally I really enjoy the latter, and if you think about it... many people who are looking into Pure Farming already play Farming Simulator, including yourself. FS19 will most likely hit the store page in October this year, although there isn't much info anywhere, there is some about possibly new engine and improved (photorealistic) graphics. Aside from other current differences in features, I believe MP is something they should not overlook. Competition is healthy, and FS is probably going to be raising the bar in the next 9 months. Just something for the Devs of Pure Farming to consider.
Looking at the forums MP seems to be a dealbreaker for alot of potential buyers.
Another way to look at it, with MP there will be a wider audience, which will help improve your single player experience as there would be more sales. I'm not saying whether or not it's a deal breaker for myself, I honestly don't quite know yet.
