Can you quit a side quest in My First Farm?

I had a quest that I accepted to deliver some eggs to a restaurant. I had (3) chicken coops with baby chicks but it takes several days for them to grow and start producing. I got on line and someone stated you had to raise chickens and have them lay eggs and once you have the eggs you can complete the quest. So, I thought no problem.

But I got notified that I failed the quest (it did have a time limit) and I still don't have any chickens producing eggs.

Once accepted can you quit a side quest? Probably would have quit the quest and waited on the chickens to grow and start producing eggs and then accepted the quest again? I noticed the quest doesn't reset, if failed, and that quest question mark on the map is gone now.

So far I have seen no way to quit a side quest and I haven`t seen failed side quests come up again after waiting several in game days.

Personaly, I save the game just before the side work or quest, then try to do the job, also have everything ready to do the job before I take it, but by saving the before you can always stop the game if your not able to complete or do the work, thne come back and load the game where you made the save and you know what or how to complete the side work or quest, may take a bit of time to play this way but you have a safty net, just in-case, Later
