Also, according to the PR representative for the game, the Year 2 game is much more done than not, but progress is slow because the developers have other jobs that pay their bills, and have other projects they are interested in as well.
I don't have much nice to say about that, just like I don't have anything nice to say about the fact that their active project right now is a "but what if warships were sexy anime girls" one.
Year 2's release is a giant can of worms in the fandom, as you can probably see from some of the other threads on Steam. But speaking for myself, I will say that they do work on Y2 at...their own pace, more of a hobbyist one. But it's not abandoned.
Then I'll have to wait a decade for year 3.
It's like dog years, but in reverse.
There are activities, items and events just missing. Like, I've had a couple of activities pop up as rewards but then not be in the selection menu afterwards. Then there's a random event that's supposed to give you a Jade Necklace but it just says "need to add Jade Necklace" in brackets.
I get that they put a bunch of work into the game so far but honestly I would say they've made a game a mile long and an inch deep. There are 200,000 different skills but you can only train one at a time for a single point. Then you just have to hope that whatever you've trained comes up in quests. Like, why are there multiple skills for the same idea. Diplomacy, debate and persuasion are all pretty much the same thing. But it's just random which you'll need to convince someone of something in an event.
And since the whole story part of the game is entirely done through events you basically just have to be lucky, or know all the events in advance, to enjoy it.
