A couple of questions from new player :)
Hi all. Just got the game. It sounds really intriguing and the closest I'll get to a real Hogwarts sim.
I also really adore the Boccherini music theme on the intro screen, it's probably my favorite section of the full composition :)
I have a few questions if I may.
1. On booting up the game I have 2 preloaded mods available (First touch of Summer & Summers Blush), Should I enable both of them for my first playthrough?
2. Could anyone recommend a video guide that walks you through the initial creation of your character and what stats and choices will mean to how you progress through the different schools of magic etc?
The menu and interface are very daunting and I learn better through watching than reading guides, though if you could also recommend some "getting off on the right foot" for complete beginners they would also be very welcome :)

Yes, enable both mods. First Touch of Summer is a compilation of MANY free DLCs Black Chicken released. Summer's Blush actually seems that it was released last Friday to fix bugs and clarify a butt ton of lore.

I'm unsure if there's a video tutorial available. I'd recommend for your first run going through the list and picking what sounds cool to you, or perhaps selecting the background that best fits yourself.

Here I found this after googling. It does a pretty decent job at explaining character creation, but it's very old.

Many thanks for this :) I had started watching this one already :)
Many thanks for the reply :)
I have been reading some guides etc, of most concerns to me was allocating your first 5 talent points to Intelligence, fitness etc and the following "Where do you come from, family life, What sort of things you like to do, Your previous education etc etc. Basically, a build guide that help me to avoid conflicting choices for when creating my first student.

Hi, welcome! It's nice to have you here. I bought this game when it was released way back in 2010, and have been lurking in the community ever since. I'm not a min-maxer by any means, but I have played a lot of hours, so I'll try to help with what I can. It's definitely a game where there are a ton of options, and some are more rewarding than others, mechanics-wise. Though it's really fun to just experiment with what you wanna play, IMO. I'm not aware of any video guides but I do recommend the following:
http://academagia.invisionzone.com/topic/3561-quick-overview-of-basic-mechanics-faq/
(A guide that goes into more detail past the tutorial. Should have a lot of info for what you're looking for)
http://academagia.wikia.com/wiki/Academagia_Wiki
(The wiki. Now at 3,434 pages!)

(A very informative Let's Play. Has a very well written original character and is fun to read, while also getting into extensively explaining game mechanics.)

Many thanks Cat for the links. The game does not really give you much help when it comes to what everything like stats and menus so I very much appreciate the help :)
I am really looking forward to losing myself within the game, going through a bad patch in life and this looks like a perfect escape :)

I have two questions, but both are kinda technical:
1) Is there a way to fix text scrolling (like, when you read 7 pages and click "next", i'd like to start reading next text from page 1, not page 6)
2) Is there a way to fix text into single column instead of two?

Sorry, I have no idea. I am still very much learning the basics of the game.
