Small fins. Big trouble. Our free demo is live!

The reef is open for your first dive

Our free Shark Tales: Reef Rogues demo is now available on Steam. Pick Bruce, Dr. Inky, Barnacle Bill or Nautilus Prime, then see how far your fins can carry you.

Ten waves. Two regions. Two boss battles.
Play solo or bring up to four local players around one screen. Build an oddball arsenal, chase optional encounters and take your haul to the Pearl Machine.

See your next upgrade

The new picture-led workbench shows your weapon, its required item and the evolution ahead. Follow the upgrade steps, see what is missing and choose your next purchase. Ready early? Join the other ready divers in Bubble Chase while the last player finishes shopping.

Tell us what went gloriously wrong

Who did you choose? Which weapon surprised you? What ended your run? Share your build, screenshots and feedback in the community discussions. If something breaks, include the game version, what you were doing and whether you were using a controller.

Demo progression lasts for the session and does not transfer to the full game. The demo currently supports solo and local shared-screen co-op; online multiplayer and Workshop are not included.

Download the free demo and wishlist the full game

The full game is planned for October 2026, subject to the remaining release checks. Thank you for helping a small family project find its sea legs.

Make the reef your own — our first four Workshop mods are live

The first four example mods are now public on Steam Workshop. A darker sea, dangerous living lights, weapons with outrageous bargains, and minnows with far too much confidence: pick your experiment. Midnight Reef: No Safe Sunrise Night falls across all four zones. Shorter sightlines make your light and the sunken lighthouses matter. The deep doesn't offer a morning escape. Your most unreasonable build — and how to report a troubled dive

This thread is for the build that should not have worked, the weapon you underestimated, and the run that ended one pearl short of brilliance. If you've played the free demo or a test build, share your character, weapons and the decision that made the run. If you're waiting for release, tell us the kind of ridiculous combination you'd like to try. Screenshots and short clips are welcome. List any enabled mods so other players can understand the setup. Something went wrong? Help us reproduce it. [...

Dev diary — the sea gets a vote

The seabed should be part of the fight. Our latest test build adds shifting currents and a gentle gyre, alongside changes that connect environmental effects to the places they come from. Silt follows scoured channels as currents carry swimmers, ordinary enemies and loose pickups. A warning gives you time to read the next direction, and swimming upstream remains possible. The gyre has a still, healing eye. Thermal surges begin at vents, blooms form around clam beds, and electrical discharges originate at ...
