Wow. It was so promising a few years back. Was really looking forward to playing this game. But it got taken away by ideology. How many games it will take for investors to finally understand this stuff is going nowhere?

I am like a lot of folks these days, but I am very different from a slice of humanity that is consumed by prejudice and hate. That said, I wish that the game would let us choose a gender for our main character. That is my only beef.

Now, as for the foolishness....

I am a straight white old man. I am an atheist. I have been married forever to my best friend. She is a wonderful lady.

I have a gay buddy who is practically family, and my kids call him "uncle", and two of my kids are gay also. (All are adults now)

Woke.. such a stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ term. How about just being considerate? How does that suit you all? Being mindful of others IS NOT EVIL or WRONG! It is just kindness.

But let's use "woke" for a second, it really means that you woke up from the nightmare of hatred and prejudice that has plagued us for the entire history of human kind. FINALLY we are starting to evolve to the point where we do not let knuckle dragging define us... So yes, I am "Woke", but I think of it as just being kinder and gentler than the ugly version of what I could be... I see that side in my brother, who is a raging MAGAt.

People are different. To expect everyone to adhere to your own belief system, which doesn't seem to allow for alternatives, is about as racist, and homophobic as it gets. Yes it is better to be liberal and accepting and leading forward into the future. Conservatives want to pull everything back, make the status quo be more like 50-60 years ago. Some of us have evolved.. If we want to see 2100 AD, we need to be more accepting of each other. I mean that even with regard to me accepting that conservatives have a right to their opinion, and can act as they choose...AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT HARM ANYONE, OR ADVOCATE HARMING SOMEONE. There are many kinds of harm. We need to stop all of them.

Why can't folks just be kind? Considerate of others. If you don't have something nice to say then just don't say anything? Why is that so hard for MAGAts/White christian Nationalist nazis to comprehend?

I don't care if this post gets blown up by the mods of whoever. If it reaches one person and they read one thing, let it be this:

Religion and conservative values are the downfall of advancement. Advancement as a species is desperately needed. We are far to crowded and close now to let hate rule everyone. We all just need to try to be kind to one another. Reject hatred.

From the sects of VTM to the beast courts of WTA, a significant (perhaps even most) gameplay in WoD games revolved around political maneuvering. Unless you were a Malkavian, then it was just about being edgy.

Both of you are totally 100% correct. VTM table top and Mind's Eye Theater was Emo as ♥♥♥♥. It was all about releasing your mind, free it of pre conceived notions of neanderthals and just go with it. Most vampire movies are very clearly gender fluid about vampires.

Thought of that. Darkness doesn't. Sometimes I am that vengeance and spite. I think everyone is. It's important to fight this because in that depth u can lose yourself.

If we're talking about belief I think that atheism make less sense than agnosticism, rationally.
It makes sense to doubt what cannot be known. And to keep the door open to spirituality, the soul, because it makes us immortal with a unique purpose. It's a comfort against the great void of death ahead, the unknown we all walk to. That fear.. it's deep and the cradle of religion, i believe. I feel religion is a good comfort but for me I made my own belief. They all did that, I think: made something up. A story to help us all from the brunt of the crippling fear.

The fear makes us insane. Uncertainty and inevitable doom, and short lives with little time to master anything or deal with the problems. We're old before we manage even the basics, it seems, and it sure doesn't help that there's no sound advice to be had as u full well know that the others are just as fearful as u r. It's those that believe they know u should not trust, because they lie if they say they do. And they do that because they're scared senseless. They found comfort in holy purpose but not enough, hence the need for crusades. One cannot compromise about the holy word, of course, as it is the truth and salvation we seek. And the purpose we need. it's just.. what if it's a lie tho? kill ur brothers and sisters for lies... every person is that: a brother or a sister, or a father or a mother. To deal with that people need to be dehumanized and demonized, but that surely is a lie. Every step on this road of hatred makes it harder to go back: 'The road to hell is easy, it's the climb back up that's hard.'

No, we don't know. What I see is an earnest attempt at making a story action vampire game.

I actually wondered if the defenders of "woke" would start making threads like this to protect any failure the game may suffer. I'd hoped they wouldn't but I guess making sure what they're meant to pretend to hate has an easy excuse for any failure means too much to them.

Ignoring the fact I feel we'd have a different view on "Hate" that's basically what I meant. These posts are quite literally a "Defender of woke". They factually have zero relevance to reality, they exists so any failures that could happen with a game can have people like OP pointed at and blamed so zero self reflection ever has to take place. It's not criticism, it's not any form of intelligent argument. It's nonsense, absolute, nonsense.

"WOKE!!!" screechers are honestly up there with useful idiots and microtransactions when it comes to harm that has been done to gaming as a whole.

defending is reactive. without an offense there's nothing to defend. so there won't be any threads defending.

a game, or a story, fails due to poor writing. woke is being aware against injustice, which has nothing to do with writing skills as it is a sentiment or an understanding and not a skill.

The definition of woke is: Being aware of injustice.
Look it up.
So when you are against woke, you are against black and gay. That's all there is to it. It's the new racism. But you don't have to believe that, because you believe you are saying something else. But it's not what it means what you are saying.
Your version of "woke" is "poor storytelling". So you are disconnected from what you are trying to express because you are using the word incorrectly OR you are a racist and a homophobe. There's no other cases, just those two.
