Traversal short showcase
I had to make a new topic for this one.

Great traversal is one of my favorite elements in a game like this - I loved being able to move quickly and freely in Spiderman 2, Prototype, any game that allows me to really move smoothly and quickly. So that was one of the things I was particularly excited by during the warehouse video - how we can jump far, glide, and how great traversal is always emphasized in their diaries.

We see a short clip of some of it in the last dev diary #25: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAVgDaG9bZU&t=61s

This looks fun as hell to me. We have fast running, quick high jumps, fast crawling up buildings, and pretty perfect gliding. Smooth, quick. My only hope is that we can somehow jump even farther, but whatever. I'm very happy with how this looks and feels (and sounds).

Excitement +1

I mean... if it's gonna feel like mirror's edge I'm down for that.
But I want more to have the option to play without mirror's edging in other playthroughs (stealth/dialogue/bruteforce/manipulation)

PS: I wonder how enemy visibility is going to work. is it going to be super lenient? are npcs gonna shout "what was that"

Good q, I'd love a punishing alert system - always lame when enemies are basically watching and hearing their friends get killed in another room.

They did say they're setting up brute/stealth/ranged gameplay styles right? So I doubt this kind of traversal will always be required - I'm sure they'll let us charge directly in and avoid all the rafters and sheeet.

Spends an hour doing parkour around the city for no reason :D

I was literally coming here to make a post about it--i'm super excited to traverse the city like this. I'm even more excited to utilize the verticality for stalking enemies since they very obviously want that to be a viable choice. Makes me think of the old Batman Begins videogame.

I'm curious about reactivity to that kind of traversal, like is it breaking the Masquerade to be seen jumping and gliding around like that? I think when gliding and jumping around we should temporarily be in a dark mist form (practically invisible) so we're not worrying about being seen doing supernatural leaps and gliding around.
