Multiplayer doesn't work well on games that were not designed to have it from the get-go; i.e, balancing issues. Even older games that wanted to include multi usually did so in a separate game mode from the story campaign. Most story-driven singleplayer games don't have it because it doesn't fit their game design.
Just because the devs choose where their priorities lie (i.e, focusing on singleplayer) doesn't mean they "messed up". You're simply not the target audience they are going for, which is completely fine - not every game has to cater to everyone. It's better for devs to funnel time and resources into making a better product than shoving half-a**ed features in an attempt to placate everyone.
If multiplayer is what you want then there's plenty of other games to choose from, including one set in the VTM universe called Bloodhunt. Personally, I prefer to play on my own and I dislike constant internet connection to be a requirement in singleplayer games.
I know. I meant spoiled in the sense some people now think every game MUST have live service (including some degree of multiplayer) or else it's a lesser product.
You really should learn proper English before you start arguing with people over words.
Here's a hint: Some words have more than one meaning, requiring you to apply common sense and a general understanding of context.
