This is Bloodlines 2. It is the official sequel to Bloodlines 1. A few Baby boomer gatekeepers do not get to define what Bloodlines for the rest of the world.
Successor, I think
None of that changes that what has been shown off generally sucks though.
version 2 we play as phyre, a generic old vampire, who has a set personality and a poor dialogue system (like fallout 4). don't get me wrong, they could do a mass effect and make us love phyre, but right now what has been shown does not live up to bloodline and look more like redemption in the fact we play a set character (redemption had a better dialogue system), which people does not want in a bloodline game.
it does not help that we came from 5 clan (+ thinblood) to 4 clan. i mean it does not look good even from the little combat we saw.
And yes the other studio ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, it's their fault too, but their concept was far better.
I agree with this. I was giving The Chinese Room the benefit of the doubt when they were first announced as the new developers. Everything The Chinese Room has shown off since September has not been good though.
According to this graph, https://inanage.com/2014/10/08/gamer-demographics-over-time/ , the average age of gamers in 2005 was 30 and the average of years played was 12.
The fans of Bloodlines 1 seem to be largely millennials, not baby boomers.
Also, without "gatekeeping" as you call it (I would call it "maintaining consistent quality"), IPs hemorrhage fans. We've seen this happen at record amounts over the last decade as record numbers of franchises have destroyed themselves by releasing terrible products.
This is the equivalent of toilet paper companies switching to sand paper and then being surprised when nobody buys their product. It's not gatekeeping to state the plain truth that sand paper is not toilet paper and shouldn't be sold as toilet paper.
I don't see the point in a game like this: Play as an Elder who rose up from her Torpor and speaks modern english in a sec. It doesn't even makes a sense, i mean, Ok, i'm a Elder who just woke up, why would i find trouble? i literally would just want peace, Killing each other is a Neophyte thing.
Well, blame Disney and Marvel for this in a way. Doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stories and treat them as epic
I mean i refunded it before hand already but still kinda supprised by the email.
It was only the physical collectors edition that got a mandatory refund. The digital preorders have merely been Paradox being willing to honor a refund due to the extended development.
That there are still those of use with the mouse icon is further proof not all copies were mandatory refund.
