We already have VTM: Redemption, which is awesome and I'd be happy with continuing a Redemption series in the Classic RPG style.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/559680/Vampire_The_Masquerade__Redemption/
Why would they be more cRPG because we play a team?
Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption is that, on a computer - a CRPG. That's what a CRPG is.
Granted, I've seen people use CRPG as "Classic RPG" rather than "Computer RPG", which is far more accurate, to distinguish from the vast that literally every video game is a Computer RPG. "Computer RPG" is superfluous term that hasn't been valid since like 2005 but still used as if people are unaware gaming has evolved.
Do I want the player to have agency to solve missions in many different ways? yes
Do I want... complex character sheet with many abilities that can be used in pacifist or combat ways? yes
Do I want... (even more than bloodlines 1) player agency in decisions that have not only effects contained within missions, but have long term effects to the story of the game? yes
Do I want a lot of locked content for each can, making the game more fun for different playthroughs? yes
It's all about quantity and diversity.
some people would call horizon an RPG because you can choose sarcastic or annoying dialogue options.
or CoD because you role play as a soldier.
or call doom an immersive sim because you can jump and do platforming.
some people say that love is baby don't hurt me
edit: to answer your question, I'd rather a cRPG the likes of temple of elemental evil, and Arcanum.
The original developers of Bloodlines were cRPG experts. bloodlines was what happened when they thought "what if cRPG but 3D" and when someone at blizzard thought about diablo "what if cRPG but in real time" (which effectively spawned a new game genre)
but if you want to make a potion from "tyranny" and "dishonored" I'd be cool with that
That seems a little misleading to me...
Diablo was designed on turned-based combat inspired by Rogue, Nethack and Xcom.
David Brevik, the lead programmer and designer, didn't want it to be real-time, but everyone else said it would be better so eventually he caved and aRPG was born out of that. A couple of hours was all it took for David to change the game from Turn-based to real-time and he loved the result when he tried it.
Generally speaking i generally see the WoD as a system much more in the field of storytelling than inch measuring figurine moving kinda way... No to mention a bigger percieved focus on thinking about your chacters personality than the party approach. Which all means that i generally think it lends itself much more to playing a singular character without the need to having deep combat mechanics or being turnbased.
Meaning if you'd said Disco Elysium instead of Larian, it would have made me ponder the choice more.
But that's all rather specifcically in regards to a Bloodlines 2.
I'd like to get a follow up on Arcanum and HBS Shadowrun series.
I'm really looking forward to the coming Jagged Alliance 3 to hopefully be able to scratch the itching need for turnbased tactical combat.
So for me there generally is no strong preference specifically to the gameplay, as long as it's a well done project i'm likely happy.
