Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Will My GTX 970 be sufficient?
Hey good news here. I had no idea a sequel to one of the world's coolest games was coming out. Bad news is I haven't updated my machine since Fallout 4 (2015). Still, it's a hi power machine able to run almost everything on todays market.

Anyway, I looked at the store page and it says (TBC) on the requirements still. Does anyone know the inside scoop?

Yes, but you'll need to fine tune the settings and perhaps settle for 30-40 fps. I had a r9 380 who's on par with the gtx 970 and I could play any game as long as I set things to medium / low at 40fps. Can't say the same when next gen hit the market, but since vbtm2 isn't going to be next gen, there's that.

Thanks shift. I might upgrade to a 1080 whenever I get tax returns. Are those any better?

Buddy, going for a 1070 would even be enough but if you want to get into the games before it's too late with the graphics market, get a 1080.

But yes, Shift is completely 100% correct

It depends on the balance of the PC what upgrade is the best. An GTX 1080 is awesome yes but you also have to take in mind the rest. The CPU, how much and how much memory etc to balance it with. It would be a shame to buy an expensive card and run an imbalance.
So before you splash a lot of money on the best video card you can buy. Check what the rest is doing!

i could be wrong to assume, but i'm assuming they have at least 8GB since they said, "Still, it's a hi power machine able to run almost everything on todays market." and 8GB runs well with a 1080 and would make a difference (though, i'd say to upgrade to at least 12GB of RAM lol)

TBH, I would rather go rtx 2060 super or rx 5700 xt rather than a 1080. Why? They have the same performance, the 2060s is newer and can run the raytracing better and sometimes you can even find a 2060s cheaper than a 1080. For the 1080ti, a rtx 2070s would do a better job, unless you really need those 11gb vram, which most likely you don't.

I'm pretty sure my Maingear guy said the most my particular machine could upgrade to is a 1080. It's still a solid machine.

but more expensive atm. Which is why you should go for MSI 2080

It's out of stock atm. but it should be back up soon.

If your pc have a pci-e 3.0 slot (and if you can put a 1080, it sure is), there's absolutely no reason why a rtx 2060 super won't fit there. It can't be the PSU either, since a 2060 requires less energy than a 1080. He's either uniformed or is lying to sell you one of his older hardware.

it can fit but depending on the pcie-e version, it may not let you use the full card. That is how mine is
