Spirit map ?

I need three more spirits. I've explored everywhere on the map and finished the quartz trial. I've climbed all the towers I collected every spirit I could find. Is there a spirit map anywhere ? Or are there any spirits in unexpected places ?

(For technical reasons I cannot get any pets. Please don't try to teach me to get a pet cat.)

They're all kind of just all over the place, the last one I was missing was in the south-west corner of Duskenvale (went out of Dusken Keep and just kept going south-west).

Did you find the ones behind the Water Treatment Ruins? There are three there and one or two may require you to get on a ledge on the outside of the ruins.

Are there any behind The Trials pyramid? I forgot.

There are also three or four in the flower maze in the north-western corner of the map, by Manny Scripples the Scroll man. An easy way to find them is to jump onto the flower hedges from one of the dead-ends with a tree that's slightly higher up.

What else... Did you look on top of the hill near Fairwillow Grove? I think there was one there.

I have found three of the five I was missing. I had missed one in the maze, one on one of the towers, and one on top of the wall that walls off the quartz crystal area in the south.

I've checked the other areas you mentioned, including the top of every hard-to-climb hill. Still looking for two more. Grrr. Thanks for your help and encouragement.

Didn't find them. But I solved my problem with getting pets, got a cat, and the cat found them. Thanks for responding, Mist.

PeskyTheTroll You say you have solved getting pets. I find the interface for gaining pets one of the worse aspects of this game. You have two flags, one green with exclamation mark and one blue with a paw print. The green one enables one to interact to gain a pet. The blue seems to make things go backwards. I don't have any idea of how to control these two flags. With the green one once the dialogs come up and you select an option like pat, ear scratch etc. you then click with the mouse as it goes over the stars to get a multiplier effect. When the blue and green flags start moving there does not seem to be anyway to control these stop or am I wrong.

It would be nice to know how this interface actually is meant to work. How is appears to work (through experimentation rather than instruction) is almost enough for me to stop playing the game out of sheer frustration.

Your description is right. When the blue flag comes up, the animal is going to get distracted and there's nothing you can do about it. So at some point you need to get trust up to at least 40% when the blue flag comes to avoid losing all trust and having to start again.

I had a firmware problem which stopped me from being able to time my clicks. I eventually solved it. Then I could work the system properly. It let me click when the pointer was at 1 or 2 stars, which gave me 2 or 3 stars which is 1.5x or 2x effectiveness. That's enough to win.

The main secret was to attempt pets on your own level until you've figured out hoe to do it properly. Since you start on level 1 that mens you should attempt level 1 rabbits only. There are some in the strip of land just outside your town's borders. Get at least three of them before you even attempt level 2. You can always release them later. Then get more level 1 things or perhaps attempt a level 2 black bear cub.

For each attempt, first make sounds until you have attention above 70%. You will lose all trust but that's okay. Once you have >70%, keep going for attention until the blue flag has gone. That gives you two or three attempts at petting to gain trust before the blue flag destroys it all. I never used food at all.

By the time you're trying level 3 or 4 animals you'll know exactly how to work the system and it won't be a problem any more.

Thanks very much. That you cannot influence the flags but you can after the actions are selected is useful. Is very frustrating trying to click on the flags, the stars to see that does something. If they gave a clearer idea of how it works that would pay huge dividends.
