Pigeons
Am I being especially dumb? I cannot fathom the pigeon puzzle, and even after watching the walkthrough still have no idea what was happening.

You have a map with four locations (a-d). On a note you find is a certain amount of pigeons depicted close to the corresponding letter (a-d). Each pigeon flies differently and depending on their position on the pigeon hole they can reach the locations on the map.
The current routes are visible on the map.

The only thing you have to do now is to let the prior mentioned amount of pigeons fly to the associated location.

Just to add/clarify, every time you change the positions of the pigeons, their routes change/update on the map. You have to keep looking back and forth to figure out which path is the correct one before you send them off.

of all the puzzles I have done so far this one has been the most obtuse and frustrating.

Everything has been logical and enjoyable so far - that is, until this puzzle. And here's the usual problem with video walkthroughs: they don't actually explain anything, they just presents solutions.

The crucial hint is to look at the flight patterns and the angles. The flight pattern of each pigeon always stays the same (if they go in a straight line, they'll always go in a straight line) but you have to change the angle at which the pigeons start, so they can reach the destination.

Think of it as the hands of a watch that you turn to point at a different number.

Let's say that you want to go to A, which is on the very bottom left: The red pigeon flies in a straight line, so if you were to put it in the bottom right spot (which is 0°), it would fly to the very right in a straight line but if you put it in the upper left spot (180°), it flies to the left. It's a bit harder for the other 3 pigeons because their flight patterns are curved but luckily the map changes if you change the position of a pigeon, so you can go back to check if they can reach the destination.

Thank you to all who explained the logic behind this puzzle. I was totally stumped on this one

each bird stands for a line, move the bird, the correspond line will change direction. to get the part you need, make sure lines in right number go through the right point on the map

Yeah, this was really an obscure puzzle and I had to check a walkthrough. While I could get the general idea, it has so many moving parts: the number of pigeons, their paths, the angles and their direction on the sketch. Just too obscure and unenjoyable IMHO.

This one got me as well. Every document and letter seen up to that point was a static piece of paper, so I'd assumed that it was a hint about one flight path you should send the birds on. I never caught on to the fact that it changed as you shifted the birds around. It's pretty clever once you figure it out, but there isn't enough to lead the player to that. Maybe if the flight path was delivered after every bell, it would be more clear.
