Unfortunately, it looks like Google Photos doesn't support MPO files yet, so the current version of VR Photo Viewer can't bring them in yet. Adding support for local files is already high on the list. I'll re-visit MPO support once that has been added.
I've pushed an update to the "testing" beta branch that adds support for MPO photos (displaying them in stereoscopic 3D).
Note that this is only for MPO photos - it does not support videos taken by the Fuji camera.
Also, if you have MPO files created by other cameras, the display of the photos may not have the proper 3D depth information and may not display properly. The only other camera I have found that outputs MPO is the Nintendo 3DS. The Fuji camera images should display properly. I'll be adding support for the 3DS files soon. If other cameras are needed, please let me know.
Please let me know how this works out for you. If all goes well, I'll promote this to the official release as soon as I get 3DS support added.
Thanks!

Were you able to test it out? How did it work out for your MPO images?
