Tips on beating Reinard?
I am trying to fight Reinard, but I am having trouble. If I focus Reinard then the Alchemist keep blowing up my guys. If I focus the alchemist, then by the time he is dead, then Reinard and spearman kill me.

Well, definitely kill alchemist first, at least if he drop you to the ground when you atr surraunded wuth 3 enemy you are dead.
So try to kill him without losing HP.
I killed Reinard in a way he even coudn't use his berzerk drinkand neirostimulant, because he drinks them only when stand close to you.

the alchemist goes down fairly easy so i would target him first.
if you dont think u can take him down fast enough, you can try netting him.
that will increase your chances of him missing you with his projectiles.

On my solo run I targeted the alchemist first since he can do a lot of damage regardless of my blocking skills. I had an 8 AP build, so I had to use one of my neurostimulants to start the fight and threw two oils around the alchemist so that he ended up in a sort of an alcove with only one exit. I then moved my guy into the square that would be his exit from the fire and it prevented him from throwing bombs. Next turn I threw another oil to block off Reinard and his two friends from advancing. This worked very well for me.

ugh, can't do it either, the archer is a nuisance, by the time I'm done with the alchemist and the sidekick or a boss himself, I tend to lose at least one guy.

I have two heroes with high defence skill, but I do not have ranged units, so i used very different tactics. I separated alchimists and his buddy from other 3 fighters with liquid fire (you get it from last encounter). And attacked Reinard. Alchemist was the last one standing enemy and his bombs (he throwed 3 at me) were really damaging but not fatal when not supported by other enemies. Max difficulty.

I toss the greek fire behind me, blocking the clubman and alchemist for several turns. Then I drop ( in order):
Reinhart
Spearman
Bowman

Usually I have a turn or two left over before the fire burns out and the alchemist and clubman join the fight.

are you guys using two or three man teams?

My main guy dies to the Bowman in first hit All the time.. I likely need to restart the game as I have run out of healing just before this fight. I went for a charm build with craft. This most likely the issue. Doesnt matter where i place the hero the archer always hit him, even if a firewall is up

As a good rule of thumb, defensive skills should be priority #1, first make sure that your hero can at least survive a few hits and then invest in other skills. There's also a crafting 6 companion available and if you don't want to use him for fights, you can still use him in camp to craft things for you (at least crafting level 6 things).

I think Hieron is crafting level 5, if that's who you mean.

Just did this now.
I used Greek fire in gateway and bomb on alchie to knock him on his arse. Charged Marcus after Alchie to keep him on his arse, while i focused on the axe dude and cover for marcus with the biggest shield i could find.
Also, handy tip. As back row says, Hieron gets crafting 5. So may be worth holdin off on crafting stat for player an usuin him as a stay at home crafter. (Think stay at home groupies get a a bit of xp over time) will need to confirm this, unless anyone else can?

5 and he also have 20 or 25 sp when you recruit him, so that's an instant 6 in crafting.
You can also decide to fight Barca before ant queen, and then to go upstairs to get Hieron, that way you can level his sp on the ants.

Start your guys behind the large wooden gate and use a fire vial to block the whole area off. It's a 3x1 area so it will work flawlessly. If you keep a melee character right on the alchemist at all times, he will constantly spend his AP trying to flee instead of tossing bombs. You will likely have finished him off before the fire wears off, making the fight really easy in the process.

Did you try getting alchemy skill to at least level 2 and using the cassava root to make healing salve?

Also, try placing your character behind someone with a high block rating, so they will block the arrow and protect those behind them.
