Yngvar preferred to die, so this is not an option :(
I decided I wanted a party of companions using the same technique so we could do some spear walls (even pike walls).
Only at the end of the game did I realise that having 1-2 spike in inventory gave us tremendous edge.
Anyway. It didn't work as OP as intended.
The big issue was that spear&shield is a no-no for fast killing, so, when you are facing couple enemies backed with ranged killers, it becomes a big issue.
I used both Cassius and Silas, because both of them start with 4 either in shield or spear, and have enough points to increase spear&shields both at 4 when they start.
Since you get them pretty early, I thought it was a good idea because I would evolve them to the top of their skills.
But. They have a big downside, both are kinda low HP. And since I didn't want to loose them before the end, it was a lot of reload to pass most of fights.
When spear walls become effective (mid-game), some fight become incredible easy.
Every time you face melee foe that are not backed by range, you OWN them.
I will give another try to the game, and this time Ill try to apply the same strategy but backed with a ranged-killer so he can disable enemy range. We will see how it works.
