Queen Ant strategy
Has anyone got a good strategy for the ant queen boss?
It seems during the fight either due to turns or damage the boss summons more adds.
Due having to fight like 20 ants to even get to the boss is rather tight you have to min-max combat like mad and pray not to get poisoned.
Using the funnel strategy the boss was able to summon 8 more adds and herself turning the fight into a battle of RNG and less strategy since the ants only need to tag you once and do a guaranteed 10 damage off their poisons.
Doing a rush strategy I was able to get 4 adds before I killed the boss but all the damage we had taken made it easy for the claim jumpers to quickly kill us with their crossbow and archers before we could kill their rushers.
Has anyone found out if the boss does summon infinite adds and you have to rush the boss down or is there a limit to her special event?

You can use a bomb on the ant hole before entering the fight. You then face only the Queen and a warrior ant.
You just then focus her i found her very easy on highest difficulty before she can summom more than once. If you have trouble hitting her using a net may be handy or marcus to knock her down followed by arterial strikes...

I killed her by going down below to take care of the scorpions first, getting stronger armor and the sulfur vials. Throwing sulfur on the queen burns off most of her defence. And blocking off the entrence ant hole gives you more than enouth time to focus her down.

Defeat Barca and get his armor before defeating the ant queen. You do so by heading to the door leading to the ant caves and waiting for them to come one by one to you, then you spam "aim : arms" and you're done with him.

Once you wear his armor, ants can hardly inflict any damage on you (except the ant warriors and the queen). You can win the fight easily by using another choke point at the other side of the queen ant's room. They'll come one by one and you should have enough HP to dispatch them.

At least that's what I did on solo.

I was able to win the fight with barely any damage putting my 3 units on the edge of the map and running right up to the queen and attacking non-stop until she died.
She only summoned her warrior adds not her 3rd tier adds so it seems the best way to win the fight is to charge in before you get other run.

Good to know it worked for you then.

A few arterial strikes will make her a laughingstock. Each hits for at least 10 points, and a focus on critical strike will do more damage even still. She went down in 2 rounds for me.

For the sake of exp optimisation. )

I find that her head is very weak, so just spam aim:head.

I have tried the above- mentioned strats and still keep failing the Queen fight. I only have 1 bomb and just cannot seem to take the queen down fast enough before being over-whelmed with adds.

Arterial Shots (sp?) and Head Aim and still failing =(

I have a total of 4 party members as well.

Riskibus mentioned a scorpion area?? How do you get to it?

Also, is it ever possible to make healing-type potions? I can make the "balm" and I have 2 vials of anti-venom.

Sometime the brutal approach works just as well :steammocking:

The scorpion area is back in the area just after the fight againt the warrior ants.
Press TAB to bring up all usable items and look for the part of the cliff that inclines down.
If you go to the side you will fight two scorpions that can give you some nice armour with their hide and some small food.
But if you go past the stone bridge you will have to face the Scorpion king which is a 60hp scorpion with DR8.
But if you kill him and use the hole it was near and have either Con7 or Str 9 you can get a green jar which you can use on the healing machine which is hidden in the game.
The best you can do for healing is the salves, but you can make better ones with more alchemy but then you waste points on that instead of def skills or atk skills so its a balance act.

You can make healing salve with alchemy skill of 2 and cassava root.

Well as solo I stand where only 1 can attack my at one time, so it was easy.
Queen was though too - used combination of - first turn aimed arms, second - aimed legs, third - aimed torso.
